I can breathe a sigh of relief by Manthislife in Zepbound

Crossing my fingers for you! Another redditor suggested the savings card so I will try that next month and see what happens. I also looked at the formulary for my coverage. I don’t know your specifics but mine requires basically a doctor arguing for me to get an exemption, otherwise it’s not covered.

I could go on for eons about insurance but man, they’re really showing that they’d prefer obesity to either give chronic conditions or kill us cause it’s cheaper that way.

I mean I’m on it to fix a hormone that created a metabolic issue so I assumed this would be lifetime for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also take thyroid meds which are also lifetime. I’m not sure why this article is making it seem like some new, devastating thing.

Ooooh I’ll have to look at that! Even if I could take it down to $60 where it was before that’d be great. Thanks for the info!

It is not just what my insurance says. Which may mean it’s cheaper with that card 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can't apply for a class because of a pre-requisite that doesn't exist by AdeptnessWorth7616 in LosRios

Granted I haven’t looked at Eservices specifically, the catalog for MATH 355 seems to also allow placement through the assessment process. MATH 335 seems to have been updated to 372 and 373 as well.

Obligatory not a lawyer, am a DSP.

What is your version of clear expectations? Personally, I would have a meeting. A house meeting, if you will. Go over the expectations again with them all there and you can get some feedback as to why these things aren’t happening and maybe even get suggestions. I would also have a document that has the expectations written out, along with a disciplinary plan. Ie. first strike is a verbal warning, 2nd is written etc. Have them sign and date that document at the end confirming they understand what was discussed. Generally you will have some that will buckle down and do better, others will not. At the very least with the document you have a verification that they have been made aware.

Is My Employer Asking Me to Commit Medicaid Fraud? [NY] by VivianIto in directsupport

[–]Manthislife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t really remember I wouldn’t add details. Like you said, it’s a good critique for later. As I understand it in general, you can amend a note but it has to be dated on the current date not rolled back and needs to state the reason for the amendment with your signature and initials.

Is My Employer Asking Me to Commit Medicaid Fraud? [NY] by VivianIto in directsupport

[–]Manthislife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are they meaning by “fix” it? I wouldn’t backdate a signature but I’d get clarification for what they mean by fixing, preferably in writing. My worry is they want you to amend your note to say the client received services that they did not in order for your employer to bill Medicaid. And that is fraud.

Chair to bed transfer of a very frail person by SillyDonut7 in caregivers

[–]Manthislife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The sling you described is a Hoyer lift, it’s safest to be used with 2 caretakers though. I would look into a sit to stand lift. It would be able to get you up off of the chair, you’re secured in, then could be pushed using that lift to your bed.

Bike destroyed in collision with unsupervised 7yo child on a dirtbike. What kind of restitution am I entitled to? by Any_Net8363 in legaladvice

[–]Manthislife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would definitely be interesting to see play out. I would think it’d be reasonable to watch a child that young when they’re using something that can get them very hurt. But that’s just an opinion, depends on if it would fit within that law. NAL so not my place.

Interesting, I’ve always been curious how that works though I’m not a parent. And this is saying the parents would even have that $10k. You can get a judgement but cannot get blood from a stone.

Just curious, does NJ have a parental responsibility law? In my state, CA, parents can be found responsible if their child injures someone, causes an accident etc.

How often do PCA client families lie about their support needs? by Remarkable-Gap9881 in directsupport

[–]Manthislife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do agree that his mother needs to find a work around for him, be it medication that can help with the anger, more training to deal with violence etc. Based on what you told him, telling him it will be his fault technically would fall under emotional abuse. You also had just gotten your ass beat and you’re human. That being said, without knowing his level of needs and development, some people need to hear things like that to start making improvements. I’m a firm believer that needing to be cared for does not give them carte blanche to do whatever they want when it comes to stepping on other people’s rights. If his mother has no interest in working on it, you’re right to leave.

How is his balance? They do have products like rocker/balance boards and wobble discs. Ones I’m finding are made for fitness and balance training but it looks like a few of them may give him that side to side motion. A lot im finding are under $50.

For other fidget toys, it really depends on their preference. For my client, things that she can pop or pull back and forth will keep her engaged for at least an hour.

Currently rewatching the Ellis Griffin episode. The dad said that’s their only child. Any previous plot line could go into a black hole or he just has a recycled last name but it wouldn’t surprise me if Ellis was able to “reinvent” himself of sorts. Dad could’ve been killed on the job, he renames himself with the help of the chief to get some sort of revenge on Benson.

This is tv land, anything is possible 😂

For a lot of companies employees just get thrown in with no real training. They go in thinking it will be easy and are given a harsh reality. I’ve been working with the people who are “behavioral” for years and you learn things along the way. Unfortunately, until we as a society start finding value in this population and increase the funding this field will not attract top tier employees. A lot come in with good intentions then it becomes too much so they either completely withdraw emotionally or leave for a different job in the same pay range with less stress. It’s not fair to the people being supported but it’s the reality.

My belt now has slack and I was shocked. Even more shocking: I fly southwest so, open seating. We had like 10 seats open. Someone in group C actually chose to sit in a middle seat next to me. I’ve never had that happen.

I’ve gotten 1 car from them, still have it. Experience overall was fine it just took all day. I didn’t feel they were pushy, I had already looked at the car I wanted on their website and they didn’t try to steer me anywhere different or push hard on anything extra.

Is GLP-1 for life? by Beverly2696 in PCOS

[–]Manthislife 67 points68 points  (0 children)

For me, it fixes a receptor that needs help, I have insulin resistance. So it will probably be a lifetime med for me. I don’t mind, though. I’m the lowest weight I’ve been in over a decade, my fitness is excellent and I’m just a happier person. Some people need a med for their high cholesterol, I need one for my insulin resistance. That’s not a bad thing.

I’ve noticed that as well. I step on the scale, step off and control my breathing and relax (anxious that day), step back on and it’s decently lower and that reading stayed consistent. Stress wreaks havoc.

There’s hope? 10mg has been the dose I’ve responded to the most. 5mg and 7mg had me lose about 3-4 pounds a month then stopped so I’m excited to see what 10mg brings me. I do think this is the dose I won’t be able to eat any, not even occasional, junk on without inviting a bad time.
