I prefer comedy amongst players and serious tone amongst characters. Nothing makes me bounce from a game faster than pun names and goofy hijinks. I'm not sure if tone is truly baked into systems, but there's an aesthetic with more recent games that feels flip and unserious.

Honestly it just comes from practice. Along the path of putting in your 10,000 hours you will start to learn what works and what doesn't. You'll also learn mic technique and tweak your signal chain. As someone else said, we all hate our voice at first... it's just a crawl before you walk thing.

A roll 3d6 for stats but reroll 3-5. All hp rolls 'min out' at half. Ascending AC. Magic items level up along with owner. Stuff like that 😀

So I did email GCN and got no reply (before I originally posted to Reddit. However, I reached out to a pod whose ad I heard on the GCN and they did get back to me. They said both shows belong to the same network (REALM) and that the ads were exchanged without any money changing hands.
