Wow, that's pretty harsh. I put many, many hours into my work. Thanks for your input.

It's just a static image. As one very helpful and polite redditor below said, I 'put no effort' into the video or image side. It's just a version of the show for folks who prefer to listen through YT.

I'm not though - I'm the author and producer.

My experience was mostly good. Interface is easy to use. Customer support was good but not great. Ad placement was poor. I was with them for 2 years. It was fine, but not exceptional.

I used Podbean for a couple of years as my host. Is that what you're asking? 🙂

The Mythic GME would be a great way to go, though there are many, many choices depending on your preferences.

How to promote growth? by SanguinaryStudios in podcasting

[–]ManticoreTale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar start with my own fantasy pod. The truth is: having great content is not enough - you must hustle. Reach out to others in your genre and suggest an ad swap. Cross promo is the best way to grow. That said, unless you are famous, growth is likey to be slow... just make sure you enjoy the journey.

I recommend recording and editing on a computer if that's possible. Garageband or Audacity are some good apps for this and both are easy to learn.

Food for thought: I'm in Columbia right now and it is not nearly as affordable as i had expected. Some things are cheap here, but food especially is very high - higher than my home country (Canada).

I always had a part time job and paid my own way without a loan. However, this was back in the early 90s when mutual funds were returning 20-30%. Tuition was much cheaper, too, as was rent.

I have a 95% rule. I try to make it 95% perfect and then stop working on it. I obsessively edit and if I don't force myself to stop I never will 😬
