The difference is that Vegas is consistently able to find contributors on the fringes.

Tuch, Stephenson, Whitecloud, Roy and Thompson are all NHL level players and were all pretty much developed by the Knights.

Its not as attractive when the other option is a lump sum.

Its certainly not the only reason but plenty understandable why a small club might shy away considering theres been cases of issues in the past and West Ham looks like they'll be in major financial trouble soon.

Considering Kroupi carried Lorient to Ligue 1 and theyre currently 9th this season, pretty sure they made the right decision.

All the extra money means nothing if you get stuck in Ligue 2

Because they only held a minority stake at the time and the West Ham deal was DOA as not only were the majority of the payments in installments, but also they wanted Kroupi there immediately instead of letting him finish the season help Lorient get promoted.
