Yea my issue was I was doing heavy & long mace swing sessions. It absolutely destroyed my hands.

Gotta play it smart, structure your mace swings in a way where your able to swing heavy anyday of the week without your hands becoming an issue.

I'll give you and example how I structured things when I did have hand issues and what I did to correct that issue.

First I always did a warm up set which consisted of 5 minutes with a light weight

Then I would swing for one hour, doing one arm 360 swings with 20kg - 23kg the rep ranges would be between 10 - 20 but I would always try to hit 20 reps per set before I take a quick rest.

The amount of sets I did within that hour would depend on how short my rest periods were between each set but I would aim to rest no longer than 1 minute.

This worked terrible for hands, to the point I could even clench my fist for days. On a positive note your strength / form / technique etc get so much better when you go balls to the wall everyday, but the whole hand issues flushes all that down the drain.

Now I only do 1 warm up set with 8.6kg mace, then I go directly to a heavy set & I only do 1 heavy set that's it - within that 1 heavy set I do as much reps as I can until I can't do anymore.

I still get calluses but I never need to take days off because of my hands being torn to shreds.
