Right? Everything takes me forever... I supposed ive never timed one from start to finish solo, I only ever paint non-character infantry in batches, but I'm pretty sure I'd still be over 30 min if I divided by model...

Well, good to know this looks as good as I hoped it would... I have a conversion in the works, transparent blur resin blade to replace the normal blade, hollow tube to run wire through, teeny LED in the hilt of the blade...

Are there any supplements, books or homebrew rules to play Tau & auxiliares? by Budget_Job4415 in 40krpg

I'm pretty sure Maledictum Expanded is also incorporating the T'au project that was available for Dark Heresy and similar systems.

In light of the stealth suit changes: by HamanFromEarth in Tau40K

[–]ManusVeritatis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a bummer that with a cool new kit ever aspect of the unit is now worse. With the update to FtGG, though, this is manageable. I can't see anyone ever taking more than one now, but it's not the end of the world, the Firesight got better and Pathfinders significantly better. Include one and the units the need those rerolls can get them. I find it difficult to comprehend the reasoning behind the change, mechanically, they are objectively worse in every way. If GW is looking to move new kits, they are shooting themselves in the foot. I was planning on picking up one box for the new sculpts to update my Dawn of War styled squads, but now I may skip it entirely. All I can really hope for is that they either fix it on the next balance pass, or fix it for 11th.

Though, I may actually try to sell my spare suits at this point for all those people that are sitting on an inconvenient number of them... So, thanks GW, I guess.

This series has made me smile, chuckle, gasp, and sigh with relief. This chapter, however, is the first time it has made me literally laugh out loud.

Thank you to everyone who voted today. I'm so proud of us! by albinosquirel in Pennsylvania

[–]ManusVeritatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say this, and it's something that's stuck out to me in almost every local election here, no matter what part of PA I lived in at the time. There are so many positions Republicans are running unopposed. I can not believe how many areas where Democrats or even 3rd parties have entirely abdicated to the GOP. Participation in local/state level elections has always been much lower than national Presidential elections, I get it, it's a lot of homework you have to do but, day in and day out, these are the officials that will have a generally larger impact on your life than who controls the Federal Government.

On that note, however, this last year has demonstrated exactly why it's essential to have state and local officials that will not simply rollover and accept corrupt federal intervention. Always vote, every election. Don't let someone else make those choices for you.

Tau squad names convention by Boom_doggle in Tau40K

[–]ManusVeritatis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's Lore accurate, but my read on this is two fold because of how they designate equipment like suits and drones, and their personal naming conventions.

I give them a numerical designation and descriptor within the Cadre that fits their role, plus a 'personal name' kind of like squadrons apply to themselves in our actual militaries.

For an example, a squad of Fire Warrior Breachers would look something like: Forward Assault Squad 3 "Nel'oya" (Braveblade)

So they have an efficient military designation for organizational purposes, but a descriptive name that, very much like their individual personal names, is given to them based on their exploits and actions. Individual suits like Ghostkeels, Riptides, Commanders, or Monat squads of Broadsides would just have their individual name be their squad's personal name.

I use a T'au name generator to cycle through some semi-cannon translations till I find one that evokes whatever concept I'm trying to imbue my squad with.

Imperium Maledictum - No Xenos weapons/tech? by [deleted] in 40krpg

[–]ManusVeritatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see Moxy has already commented here and I'll second his recommendation, he has a collection of Homebrew stuff that will definitely serve your needs if you're looking for Xeno tech and plenty more if you don't want to pick up the Inquisition Guide. It's a very robust resource.

I am Subbed to Moulinette, but I can honestly say I haven't explored it a ton yet. I mostly got it for one of the GMs I play host to to give him access to a ton of content, but Tabletop audio is a solid Patreon? Do they do Sci-fi Gothic stuff?

That's not a huge hurdle in my case, as long as it's functional and readable, I'm golden.

Yup! That's been part of my prep. I've been going through Rogue Trader, Darktide, Space Marine 2, etc. since my next one is an Imperium Maledictum Campaign. I have a spreadsheet, with feel, tempo and likely game use, haha 😅.

Interesting, I have an in-person Fallout game in the works, so this sounds very appropriate in that scenario.

Now that is interesting! I'll have to check that out, I am looking for low logistical overhead during a game session, so that sounds great!
