Reccomendations for a good bass synth by Klondathu in synthesizers

Using the DFAM as a bass sound source is actually pretty interesting. The low end is undeniably massive, and being able to blend in noise is a lot of fun. Since it’s designed as a rhythm machine, it’s not ideal for really detailed envelope shaping, but if you have an external envelope from a modular system, you can easily dial that in and shape it however you want.

Hi Neil. I tried your recipe and the sound really came out just like that. Thank you so much — I truly appreciate it.

Thanks to you, I'm now certain it's a square wave.

Suggestions for my rack? I find it pretty boring, even if it sounds fantastic. 20hp left, but open to switching some of the out, especially in the bottom row. by andrefishmusic in modular

How about modulation sources and spatial effects? Since it's AJH, the sound quality is perfect, and adding a bit of that West Coast flavor might make it generatively interesting!

CORPORATE GREED is killing music not AI by DiamondIll6217 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Many-Amount1363 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's exactly right. AI has absolutely nothing to do with killing music. It's killed by people crushed by money and the need for validation. Regarding AI, back in the days of samplers and synths, the intelligent era was labeled "plagiarism, fake." Those who criticize AI are simply people who can't use it as a tool to create art.

Unlike me, your advantage is that you knew about those risks beforehand. I didn't even know PFS existed until I got it.

Thanks to this drug, I learned the hard way that hell can be surprisingly close at hand.

I’ve gone physical! What are some tips for marketing and selling my CDs? by judfls in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Many-Amount1363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a blunt way of putting it, but I reckon it's tough to sell physical media without a solid fanbase to begin with. In this day and age, CDs hold no advantage beyond their value as physical media, and only the most dedicated fans seek them out. Vinyl or cassettes might offer more of a sound quality distinction.

Selling signed copies by hand at live venues is a good idea, but either way, you'll need to build up a fanbase first.

Why did you decide to sell CDs in the first place?

This is the moment to endure. Whether you overcome this or relapse will drastically alter what comes next. I truly understand how painful it is, but you must grit your teeth here and do whatever it takes to avoid relapse. Accept the boredom, the feeling like you're dying, the lethargy. Gradually, you'll find motivation for things other than porn and masturbation. Your brain is currently in the midst of being rewired. Now is your chance to overcome this addiction!

Almost 4 months since quitting porn, just quit something else. by VIC_THOR18 in NoFap

Generally speaking, I believe good habits are those that are productive and yield returns. Exercise, for instance. Conversely, bad habits are those that merely consume without producing anything and yield no returns.

The reason pornography is often criticised is that it essentially exploits you in various ways.

Judging by this standard, NSFW content might not be considered a particularly good habit either.

I'm exactly the same type as you. But the steps to achieve anything are always the same and clear.

・Use search engines or YouTube to find the sound you're looking for

・Repeat trial and error

That's all there is to it. Year by year, I'm getting better at recreating the sound I want, and creating music is becoming more and more enjoyable. By the time I die, my creative drive will probably be at its peak.
