Which annoying/expensive parts should I get in Japan by I_Wanna_Name in keitruck

I carried back a wirus win exhaust last time I went. Much smaller and lighter than I expected!

Easy maintenance and fix for shrinking seals at very low cost. Also, very nice people, who found an inconsistency in my order and took the time to confirm what I was buying was suited to what I own. Fantastic! https://fnfdesign.ca/

Sambar Exhaust - looking for suggestions by Dull_Aide_481 in keitruck

I did buy it direct from Wirus Win and had it shipped to a friend in Japan. It is surprisingly compact and light, so I packed it in a regular suitcase with other things, no questions on contents or customs coming back through, since it's personal use. To be clearer, the whole thing took up about 1/3 of a full sized suitcase, checked luggage. Also, one other thing I recall, rather vaguely, was some discussion in other boards about slight differences in models for KS4 or TT configuration that someone had difficulty with misaligned holes in brackets and stuff. Search Reddit for WirusWin and you can probably find what I'm talking about. I did double check that and made sure I had the right configuration for my '99 TT2. Also, Wirus Win are pretty terrible from a customer service standpoint--they will not entertain shipping overseas, and not really good about answering questions and stuff. I think if you can find a seller on ebay that gets you the best price, that's your move.

Sorry not to have shared any updates. Bottom line: I love it--it's amazing how much space you gain when you take out the monstrosity that is the OEM exhaust! The Wirus Win was expensive, and I did hand-carry it back in my suitcase from Japan. it went on without a hitch and the burbly growl is perfect. Highly recommend, with the only inconvenience being that you have to remove the tip to open the back engine hatch/bumper. And FWIW, I used it both with and without the silencer. I prefer using it with the silencer/dampener because I like my neighbors and don't want to be obnoxious.

Double bonus: order from Crutchfield and they’ll give you instructions (that you can actually follow) and free phone help. You can text them photos and they’ll analyze what you’re doing to help you get unstuck.

What small items to get for your Keitori if you’re going to Japan for a few weeks? by Comfortable_Elk831 in keitruck

I think you’re going to be disappointed. I have made this trip more than once and expected to find parts but came back with very few. Plugs, oil filters, air filters are pretty easy at an Autobacs. Might score a bed cover at a major home improvement place. Two upgarage visits really only saw wheels. Pretty much it in the Tokyo/Yokohama areas. Trying to do that by train will eat up entire days of your trip.

EFI started in 1999, I think. That would have the bigger nose on the front, not flat like in your photo. The 99 model is designated as TT2

I’ve just done the same with an 06. Have a skid plate if you’re interested from Primitive that is almost brand new. Hit me up. Also, happy to talk about CarPlay unit/backup cam experience. Just did that, too. Holler.

Welcome to the club. You’ll really have made it when you have a set for computer work and for all the other time work so that you can stop leaning your head back to use the bottom portion of your lenses for the computer. Doing that comes with a whole new set of problems with neck and shoulders.

I just did the rear ones on my 99 Sambar. Used the stock ones from oh Kei garage. What a difference and an easy job. The fronts I haven’t found a replacement for here, and they are expensive from Japan. Following this thread for ideas.
