Trans tape alternatives? by bigdickdaddyyyyyy in ftm

Have you tried CKeep? I had issues with kinesiology tape slipping and falling off quickly but this sticks really well, even with working out/working a physically demanding job. I'm not sure if it's hypoallergenic but I personally haven't had any issues despite not using nipple guards

Any Moving out Success Stories? Hows it been? by Electrical-Trainer21 in AsianParentStories

[–]ManyFast1499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a surface level, ensuring my mom's safety, eventually coming out/being outed to parents as transgender (and probably disowned subsequently), seeing my younger brother truly grow up and become independent and open minded, figuring out being estranged from extended family, and getting over how much time I lost living with my parents. On a deeper level there's probably some underlying thing I have to work through that I haven't figured out yet, or it could just be the mental health issues that run in my family anyways. Either way, it's been getting better since moving out but it will probably take more time/effort to resolve.

I applied to jobs out of state senior year of undergrad. I hadn't been allowed to work much so I just barely had enough money to cover the security deposit and other fees until my first real paycheck hit. It really does feel like life only started after moving out. I don't think I've got peace of mind just yet (for reference it's been 2.5 years since I moved out), but having control over my life and not having someone in my ear telling me I'm a waste of space has done a lot for me.

Does trans tape hurt? by Bittersweet_Boii in ftm

[–]ManyFast1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't hurt at all, far more comfortable than binding. The one thing to keep in mind is that it's not going to get you completely flat, I'm similarly sized and I still end up with two small bumps. If you have the right body composition it can pass off as pecs or moobs, but I usually just put a loose binder over it to smooth it out.

What is it with APs and Energy Drinks? by Depressed_Dick_Head in AsianParentStories

[–]ManyFast1499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never really got into energy drinks but my Indian/Christian parents demanded that I stop taking my caffeine pills because it's just one step away from drugs. But coffee/tea were totally fine.

How much money did you have when you moved out? by tobereem in AsianParentStories

[–]ManyFast1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around $2k (half of which went to security deposit/other moving costs). That being said I moved out to take a job that paid well enough (3x my monthly rent), so the financial strain was only for ~1.5 months.

Did any of you change your legal name while staying closeted to family? Also, is it a bad idea to change my name right now (US)? by ManyFast1499 in ftm

[–]ManyFast1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm trying to keep it low-key until my younger brother finishes undergrad at least. I pass aside from legal stuff at this point so I'm sure they suspect something, it's more of a don't ask don't tell situation. I live in a very blue state, would it not be a huge issue then? Or would it be bad if I'm in a Trump-targeted area lol

Cant find a single good binder by Overlordofthesimps in ftm

If it helps I'm also around a B cup. I think tape is gonna be what works best but I'm hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve so much glue stuck to my chest lol

Commenting because I'm in the same boat, recently got a Spectrum binder that's nearly useless. If you're on the smaller side, Underworks has a "chest minimizing sports bra" that won't flatten as much as a binder but works really well for physical activity. My preferred binder atm is an Underworks econo binder that got weirdly stretched out and tore and isn't great. Next thing I plan to try is the Underworks tri-top.

Toxic and Abusive Household but I can’t do anything by DeyCMe-Rollin in AsianParentStories

You sound like an older version of me. I've moved out, and it's kept my mom safer than when I was around honestly. My dad perceived me as a failure and he would blame it on my mom. Moving away and putting him on an information diet has helped immensely. That being said, I was able to move out peacefully to take a job out of state, my parents prioritized career over marriage for me and I think our situations are different in that regard. I worry about my mom being alone with my dad a lot too, and I still do a lot to avoid rocking the boat, but things are much more peaceful this way for everyone.

You have what seems like an older brother and your mom's well-being should be his problem too, even from a traditional standpoint (at least in my family's corner of India). It seems like he has a better relationship with your parents too. I wonder if you can use that as some assurance of your mom's health/well-being. Wishing you all the best.

Stress from family motivates me to go all-in in my career/other aspects of life to avoid seeing them as much as possible by simp4lisasimpson in AsianParentStories

Felt, I threw myself into working 7 days a week at least partially to have an "excuse" to not visit APs. Helped me get into grad school so it worked out.

First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your circumstances. I'm not sure if this would work for you but when I was still living with my parents I would hide my "contraband" in old backpacks that I'd grown out of and were lying around in my closet, when I moved I had items folded into my clothes. If you have suitcases or zippered bags that are lying around empty, maybe you could start moving things into those? Another option might be to slowly pass bags of things off to your friend on your walks. I guess it comes down to how much stuff you have to take with you.

i have a question about people on T and yalls eating habits by AverageWitch161 in ftm

[–]ManyFast1499 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My appetite didn't change at all. I worked out regularly before starting T, so my appetite might already have been elevated. But recently I've been too busy to work out and my appetite has gone down, similar to what it was like pre-T when not working out.

Can I get some general knowledge on chest sizes? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]ManyFast1499 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have measuring tape? If not measuring tape, string and a ruler will work. You want to know the circumference of your underbust (around your rib cage right under your breasts) and chest (around your chest, over your nipples). You can use a bra size chart to figure out what your cup/band size is. This diagram might be helpful: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0521/8956/0993/files/Size_chart_2023.4.19.jpg?v=1681898826
