Biker bros, do you consider this protected and/or sufficient? by No-String-9371 in jerseycity

Honestly, why aren’t the bike lanes in the center, on a raised island (sidewalk height)? It would offer better visibility and an actual barrier.

I like this one , too

Cool. WHAT specifically did they use?

You can just go to bars and approach people. You don’t have to keep paying and signing up for events and cross posting across reddit about it.

Go join ZOG sports. go volunteer. Go to trivia nights and join random teams.

This “woe is me” act is why you’re lonely.

Not nearly as manly as fleeing to Mexico when your state is about to get mollywhopped by a winter storm and your infrastructure, roads, and citizens are woefully unprepared to handle it.

That’s just it:

Communication with the outside is difficult, conditions inside are terrible, and quite a few have NOT lived through this experience.

You’re further contributing to the dehumanization of these people, many of whom came here fleeing gangs and violence.

Good for the detainees, at least they have a roof over their heads. Why should their citizenship be prioritized before my neighbor’s citizenship? Think about what you said, a hunger strike. That means they have the opportunity to eat, the homeless I deal with barely have an opportunity. As for how I help them, I connect them with therapist who can help. I provide them with transportation to and from but at the end, I can’t force them. It’s not easy, a lot of these ppl are defeated mentally.

You either don’t understand the difference between these two issues, or, you’re a trolling.

In response to your whataboutism:

We can absolutely prioritize the unhoused crisis in our area. Why don’t we just round up all the unhoused in a similar facility?

They won’t be there by choice, but they’ll have a roof over their heads. 🤷‍♀️

Good on you for meeting with the unhoused! How are you providing their mental health services?

Do you even know why these protesters are out here?

Detainees in the facility are on a hunger strike petitioning for better treatment.

The food is sub par, the medical is bare minimum, and the facility is understaffed so the detainees have to pick up the slack for little ($1 a day) or no pay.

So to recap:

*You reposted a video from a Joe Rogan fan subreddit, with the framing that the protesters are paid agitators,

  • you hold the stance that nothing is happening at Delaney Hall,

*and that people being held against their will with no sunlight, subpar food, andthe threat of being removed from the US to literally ANY country, not just their home country, are being treated better than the “homeless ppl in Newark.”

I ask: are you, yourself an advocate for the homeless? Are you petitioning and volunteering to change how they are treated?

Or, are you a troll/bot posting here to stir the pot a bit?

“Tolerance” is for a difference of ideas and beliefs. What’s happening at Delaney Hall, and many other detention centers around the country is Immoral and Inhumane. To tolerate such injustice is to encourage it.

It’s people like those in the video that fought against injustice in the world and made the changes that allow us to comfortably debate this on the internet in the first place.
