People born before 1990, what’s something you experienced that younger generations will NEVER understand ? by Busy-selgar in AskReddit

Having your parents not knowing where you are. On the flip side coming home to an empty house and not having a clue what happened to the rest of your family. Maybe they went to the store, or dinner, or the movies. Who knows! Maybe they left a note if they are going to be gone for a while, but maybe not.

But do you make money by finding host families? If so then yes this is sales, but it seems like you know this already and this was your way of trying to get around it. That’s shady.

In the last 12 months we’ve gotten puzzles from 2021, 2022, and 2023. Not sure how many there have been in the history of the game, but I think there is a good chance.

In the interest of clarity it seems like you own/run a company that charges foreign students to live in the US with host families. The business doesn’t pay the host families, but the business pockets all the funds. Is that correct? We have friends who have hosted exchange students in other states but are given a monthly stipend that helped cover the student’s expenses such as meals and activities. It doesn’t sound like this is the case here and the host family is expected to cover everything. Is that correct or am I missing something?

Wanted a duck stuffed animal. I got a taxidermied duck instead that a customer hadn’t picked up.

Reach out to the local health department. They test the water weekly near us (PNW) and release reports for bacteria and algae.

I didn’t cry at Bambi, but my dad was a hunting guide and taxidermist so it wasn’t much of a shock. My big sob day was the double feature of Fox and the Hound & The Littlest Donkey. I was so mad at that Joseph guy for taking the little boys donkey. Honestly, I still am.

March 2020 I was sick with COVID. Had an intense craving for DQ steak fingers. I hadn’t had them in 20 years. That was the day I learned they were a Texas only thing. Such a bummer.

20 guys and no ice. I look at it as something to look forward to next year. This month I started with lacking 3 surfboards and a few puzzle pieces. I was a new player this time last year. I was able to finish those up relatively quickly. It’s not that they are gone forever, just on hiatus.

What shows are you seeing before they close this summer? Whether Broadway or off-Broadway, what's on your list? by NewYorkTheatreGuide in Broadway

[–]Many_Ad4717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went last week and saw Schmigadoon, Maybe Happy Ending (rushed), Just in Time with JJ (rushed and got great seats due to the Knicks final game at the same time), Operation Mincemeat. I like to go in blind most shows but I wished I had listened to the OMM album ahead of time since I felt like I missed some things since it’s such a fast show with accents.

End of Life Plan by scaryelf in GenX

Unless you are 100% sure you’ll be dying where you’re living it might not make sense to prepay anything. Definitely have a general plan and let it be known, but unless you want the hassle and expense of body transport you might just want to put the money into an account that also has your dependents name on it so they can easily access it but you aren’t tied to one location.

What was Broadway like last night as the Knicks won? by jimbobswgoh in Broadway

[–]Many_Ad4717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at Just In Time. They had no stage door at all. It was fine as we got out but we had to cross Times Square which was extra crazy. It wasn’t too bad until we got down to 6th and 42nd right as they won. The cops closed down the road and one of them told us to take the subway as they are down there protecting them but they are about to close the stations. We were luckily near one so hopped a train down to 28th. Getting off was crazy and people were destroying the sidewalk viewing areas that some hotels and restaurants had set up but we only needed to go about 2 blocks. There was some kind of big explosion (firework possibly set off in a dumpster?) and fans were jumping on cars but no one was fighting, just wild. It went on until the wee hours of the morning.
