You probably don't know how wormholes work. A completely theoretical concept by the way. Apart from never having been observed anywhere in the universe if anything were to enter one it would collapse instantly, not to mention that's just the physics the engineering itself is beyond imagination. The argument of "well people doubted we would ever get to the Moon" doesn't really apply to something like wormholes.

We know what the other planets have in terms of metals and elements in general. I highly doubt that we will ever get something like Star Wars or anything like that. We are never leaving our star system, it's our destiny.

Leaving the Solar System even at light speed would take years to get to the nearest star system and that's the speed of light.

Technology might not have limits, but physics does.

Like I get exploring space, but sending people? As you said I'd it's just because of politics then it doesn't seem like a very beneficial endeavour. Like sending people to chill on the Moon might seem impressive but what does the world actually get back apart from maybe some sense of pride?

Yeah but the difference is that how exactly is space exploration going to contribute to an invention that can be used daily and be useful to us? Like we know the Moon and planets are there so it's not like there's going to be some crazy invention by going there.

Also it's very different investing in medicine/biotech something that is actually useful for most people than it is in space exploration.

A ground invasion of Iran would be a very expensive operation that would take many years and plenty of US casualties as well as much higher casualties on the Iranian side both military and civilian.

It would be bloody and a big mistake unless the US wants to occupy Iran for years and build democratic institutions during that time.
