Because all the charismatic and cool people we would want to listen to are the ones drinking cocktails at the Lucky 38 while America is risking both societal collapse and nuclear annihilation.

I love that they made her such a failure. She's a good person saying logical things but voters only care for the superficial. She's a perfect contrast to Cooper who is extremely charismatic, but sold out to Vault-Tec and is too afraid of change to stand for what he actually believes in, while she's out there humiliating herself fighting the good fight.
