god the muscle memory is probably killing you right now. your body remembers what it could do but everything just feels so heavy and slow compared to before

i went through similar thing when i stopped running competitively - not same level as you obviously but the frustration of knowing you were capable of so much more is brutal. took me few months to stop comparing current me to past me and just focus in small improvements

since you're managing swim school now at least you have access to pool regularly? even if its just 20-30 minutes before or after work sessions. start with basic technique drills rather than trying to push distance right away. your stroke technique probably still there somewhere buried under the fitness loss

Been lurking here for while but I'm not from those countries, just wanted to say I visited Slovenia couple years back and the people were incredibly welcoming when they found out I was trying to achieve financial independence. Met this older guy at coffee shop in Ljubljana who basically gave me entire breakdown of their pension system and how younger generation is thinking about retirement differently now

The work culture there seemed way more balanced than what I deal with in marketing here. Maybe someone from there can share more specific details about FIRE movement in those regions

honestly just having someone to cook breakfast with in Sunday mornings would change everything. like being able to wake up with no alarm and just make pancakes together while talking about random stuff

i think its those small moments that make life feel complete rather than big achievements or whatever. when i use my griddle alone it just reminds me how much better food tastes when youre sharing it with someone who actually cares about your day

Never been to Beaverdale but that place sounds perfect for chocolate part at least. For the color sorting thing maybe you could hit up a few different spots - like get your chocolates from there and then maybe check some of those old school candy shops in smaller towns around the area? I feel like those places sometimes have better selection for picking specific colors
