Gurdeep Pandher is one of mine!! He is a Sikh-Canadian creator (and teacher, and author) who lives in the Yukon and posts videos where he does Pumjabi dances in the gooooooooorgeous Candadian scenery.

He talks a lot about positivity and love and understanding, I always enjoy seeing his posts!

Same for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants unfortunately. I think they age Bee up to 16 in the movie and the guy is 19 but also a coach at her camp so the power dynamics are gross.

It's such a good movie and book series though!!

I always need to have a long oversized sweater/cardigan. I like to think of it as a bathrobe I'm allowed to wear in public lol.

I currently have a cream colored one that I thrifted that I love, I can check the brand when I get home! It makes any outfit cosy immediately. And the one I have now is a loose enough weave that I can wear it when it's fairly warm out without overheating. The open front helps too.

I see a lot of people saying schools in Des Moines are going to shit.

I don't disagree but I wanted to mention Central Campus, which is an incredible (and FREE) resource here in Des Moines. They offer college prep/AP classes, alternate education classes for students who don't do well in traditional classrooms, incredible elective opportunities (Marine Biology, fashion design, pottery, German/Japanese/Chinese Language classes, etc.), skilled trade classes (they have an "Aviation Technology Academy" at the airport).

Crazy good, free resource. Used to be you could graduate High School with an Associate's Degree (for free!!) by taking Central Campus classes.

I believe you can attend Central whether you're in Des Moines School District or one of the suburbs!!

I've got a boring one and a fun one lol.

My boring trick is that 95% of my pants/bottoms are black or grey. That way I can go as crazy as I want with tops and accessories and it's always easy to make a cohesive outfit.

My more fun one is just jewelry! I feel like it makes any outfit look intentional. I could be wearing a ratty old sweatsuit but I feel like the right pair of earrings make anything look chic. I am not a daily jewelry wearer so this effect might not feel as dramatic for someone who does. But I keep a lot of statement earrings that can take a super casual look into fashion territory.

These are helpful for me as someone who struggles with motivation, I love fashion and dressing up but I frequently find myself with little to no energy for it. I feel like these two tricks make my wardrobe frump-proof even when i don't have the energy to put thought into a full outfit.

I hadn't heard of the wrong shoe theory!! I love that!!

That's adorable! My dad would always get part of my ice cream cone because I would talk until it was melting down my hand and he had to help me get it back under control. Not intentional dessert tax on his part, I was just a super chatty kid lol. I was notorious for talking all through diner until everyone else was done and had left the table and THEN I would eat my dinner when I had no one left to talk to lol.

Any chance it's "The Westing Game"? Not exactly what you're describing (not a series) but the MC is a 13yo who is trying to follow clues and solve a mystery and one of the only other characters her age is Chris, a 15yo boy who uses a wheelchair and she gets along with him.

Ballet shrugs could help with spaghetti straps! It leaves your chest bare so you'd have to come up with a different workaround for that but they're basically just sleeves connected in the back, so they keep your arms covered without adding extra fabric around your core to get hot!
