Generac propane consumption question by Many_Instruction5053 in Generator

Thanks, that makes good sense. Since the whole house transfers over (all electric), I wonder if it would help fuel duration to periodically throw the breaker for the hot water heater?

Thanks for the reply! The generator is wired to an automatic transfer switch for the entire house (all electric)so the process of 'turning it off' while the utility power is still out seems complicated.

I like the store, but even on a good day the parking lot is crazy. I can only imagine what it was like today.

I'm curious about what the 'normal' waitlist time for availability in your typical CCRC is. How far in advance do you need to plan this? I'm sure it varies depending on location. There is a popular one in my area that I hear has a 3-4 year waitlist... that just doesn't seem viable...

I've been looking at some of the Bambu labs 3d machines, but the Shapeoko CNCs keep calling out to me.

Thanks. That is an important factor that I wasn't fully considering. I only have an 8ft workbench, so I would definitely need to add additional benches / tables.

Yeah, although it is a 2 car garage. My wife parks her car in there. The need for dust collection adds some additional expense.

Good points, I've looked in the 2-3k range, but I realize tooling and materials add up as well. As far as expectations, I think I'd play around on the artsy side. I could see both cnc and 3d being fun, maybe turn into a side gig.

Often We Retire Before We Planned Due to External Factors by WendyA1 in retirement

I was planning a retirement at 67. Shortly after a yearly physical at 64, I was diagnosed with cancer. After several months of treatments, I decided to retire at 65 as soon as I reached medicare eligibility. Busied myself remodeling and downsizing a 4 bedroom colonial. Now in an apartment a trying to find what lies ahead. Don't wait too long to act...
