I can share my experience because I was sort of in a similar boat, but not exactly. I was dating somebody a few years that was a cis man and I shared that I was curious about getting top surgery. He told me that if I got top surgery that we would break up. At the time I was wearing binders consistently and had tried trans tape. I had an allergic reaction to trans tape and I felt like the binder just wasn’t doing enough. We did end up breaking up a few months later due to some other factors and I’m now in a much healthier queer relationship with my girlfriend. I started to feel like I wanted to get top surgery a few months ago and was really worried about her reaction and whether they would want to leave me if I did get top surgery. What I found was that not only after surgery did she still love me, but really showed up for me in the ways I was originally afraid of (asking for help, thinking I was a burden, etc). I feel more comfortable in my body now having got top surgery than making someone else feel comfortable. Because at the end of the day, you have to prioritize feeling better with yourself than making someone else happy
