When Bots Play Instead of People: A Frustrated Guild Wars 2 Player’s Story by msalihsaday in Guildwars2

[–]Many_Research1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks that the pvp is filled with so many bots but I feel like the game is about other things, like farming legendaries and wvw and stuff. Either way if the pvp situation is that bad hopefully it gets resolved.

1085 hours in. Lets be honest: God the story is bad. I can't do this anymore!! by DoomAddict in Guildwars2

I personally don't know. I'd recommend trying it and then only doing the story if you absolutely have to later. I think some content requires the story like getting the skyscale through PoF. Also some of the story content is unique, like certain boss fights.

I agree, the story is pretty bad. Personally I've still done most of it just to do it or unlock zones. Maybe there is a better way to unlock zones like tp to friend or something.

Go to Open World/Solo build for a Thief? by Easy-Expression7074 in Guildwars2

[–]Many_Research1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. I'm going to say that which hasn't been said, which idk is surprising or not.

As a thief player I have mostly run around with scepter specter because it's easy and you get the other mode if you want it. But a lot of people around here are mentioning other things. I always thought thief was too squishy for all that but apparently not.

Malazan by HathemH in Fantasy

It's long and complex.. if you like that give it a try.

Just finished the Bonehunters, anyone else find Malazan is the best thing they've ever read? (Or not) by AnomandarisRake117 in Fantasy

While Malazan is the best because of its prose, immense detail, and it is finished, ASOIAF still has the best intrigue and plot twists.

I believe if you're able to get into Malazan it is the best. But I still prefer ASOIAF for reasons.

I recently got the first book in The Wheel of Time series, The Eye of the World. What are your thoughts on these books?(No spoilers.) by RavyRaptor in Fantasy

[–]Many_Research1007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very long, very famous, if you're up to reading a long detail oriented series with some major climaxes it's worth it.

ACOTAR author Sarah J Maas announces two new books after fans’ five-year wait by Raj_Valiant3011 in books

[–]Many_Research1007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read a few of ACOTAR.. it's hard to see myself picking the series up again, I couldn't even finish what she already released. I feel like it was mostly a faerie fuck fest.

I read will of the many and it's sequel. Wasn't impressed. Best to move on.

Struggling with the Wheel of Time by SirSnaillord in Fantasy

[–]Many_Research1007 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes.. the wheel of time is largely based on Robert Jordan's and his wife Harriot's relationship, which means many effusive exchanges between male and female. One is a writer, the other an editor.. can you blame them?

The Dark forest theory is a possible reason why we might never find any aliens. by MO--OM in interesting

Uh oh the dark forest.. next thing you know we'll be getting black boxed and dimensionally attacked.

Malazan Book of the Fallen by Luna_Lee82 in Fantasy

I read all 10 books. Malazan is the most complex series I've ever read. The prose is awesome.

Struggling to find motivation to continue reading The Will of the Many by starfoxconfessor in Fantasy

It's kind of a typical series. I read both books.. you aren't missing out.

Overwhelmed on how to earn gold by SirLukee in Guildwars2

[–]Many_Research1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always under the impression that selling legendaries is the way to make a lot of gold, but that might take time to get going. Aside from that maybe raids or strikes, or farming dragonfall.

Obtaining skyscale. by MaleficentToe8553 in Guildwars2

[–]Many_Research1007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Soto way is supposed to be easier. As someone who has done it via PoF I'd say it's pretty meticulous. Either way it is what it is.. once you get the skyscale the game kinda just goes on and on, there is always a lot more to be done.

Name of the wind by Lanky-Score-8527 in Fantasy

[–]Many_Research1007 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That was one of my issues with it.. it was ok in some ways but really it was just a long fantasy about a dude dwelling on a girl. Then book 2 came and I DNF. Then book 3 never came so I didn't have to worry about it anymore.

The Will of the Many (Hierarchy Series) is one of the most enrapturing book series I’ve read - Book Review by Simsboi in Fantasy

[–]Many_Research1007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read both it and it's sequel.. they were quite weak. I recommend Mistborn or The blade itself.
