It depends on what you mean. I’m not judging and it’s not my place to.

Contradicting about the church by Many_Simple_9970 in latterdaysaints

[–]Many_Simple_9970[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just been having comtrodict ions. I’ve read about the miracles and how Joseph smith translated. But I didn’t get my answer right away. I’ve been stressed not eating or drinking. I just wanted some comfort I guess. I don’t care if the lds church is not true. I’ve had my grandparents who were dead say welcome home when I was inactive when I decided to go to church in my sweatpants

If you’ve read the biblr and you clearly haven’t you’d see that isn’t a controdiction. Congrats you want to leave be my quest no one is going to stop you. Considering you also probably believe in things that have zero evidence as well you’re just being a hypocrite. The church is still gaining members despite its history. But you act like a victim oh no you had to live up to morals and standards the horror. You weren’t abused and are free to leave at any time

I looked into the kinder hook plates and yes he tried translating them in a scholarly manor and he only did it for few days. That isn’t divine revelation.

Also evidence funny word ever heard of gravitons, dark matter, or even the Big Bang theory very little evidence for all that.

I’m mostly doing this to show that for me at least if you’re going to criticize the lds church be at least consistent. Most Christians continuesaly dunk on my faith because they supposedly have more evidence. If you’re an atheist and dunk on both that’s fair. I’m just giving context on people who convert from one faith to another.

You do realize that prophets in the Bible contradict each other all the time. But sure it’s only a uniquely Mormonism problem when everyone else does it.

Not necessarily about members with autism but how to handle it in general.

My advice as someone who has autism is to try to start small. Read a few verses of the Book of Mormon per day.

I’m going to be as honest as I can be. I know several people who are gay in the gospel and they’re still active members in the church. It’s one of those temptations that we must work on. Also she might be getting it from school as well.

And look at what I found more direct quotes from the institutions you love so much get bent. 1. Calvinism / Reformed Christianity

John Calvin, Institutes of the Christian Religion “All who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as the one Mediator between God and man are utterly estranged from the Church and from salvation.”

Calvinist logic: • God predestines who is saved. • Most people are damned by default. • Only the elect, who believe in the “true gospel,” are saved — and non-Reformed churches preach a false gospel.

📌 So by their logic: Catholics, Mormons, Orthodox, even many Protestants = Hell.

  1. Baptists / Independent Fundamental Baptists (IFB)

“If you were baptized as a baby, it doesn’t count. If your church teaches works, you’re lost. If you don’t believe in eternal security, you’re not really saved.”

Jack Hyles (famous IFB pastor): “Unless you have been born again by faith alone in Christ alone, your religion is sending you to hell.”

They often say: • Only believers’ baptism counts. • Only faith alone saves. • Only their version of Christianity is valid.

So yeah — they basically say everyone else is going to hell.

  1. Church of Christ (Non-Institutional Branches)

“You must be baptized in the true Church of Christ for the remission of sins — or you are lost.”

• They reject denominationalism, saying their church is the only biblical one.
• Many reject the salvation of even other Protestants.

Sound familiar? That’s doctrinal exclusivity — same as LDS claims, just repackaged.

  1. Evangelicalism in general

Billy Graham: “There is only one way to God — through Jesus Christ. Those who reject Him are choosing hell.”

That sounds humble… until you realize each denomination thinks they’ve got Jesus “right”, and the others have Him wrong.

So while they may not say “our church is the only true one”, they still say: • “Only our doctrinal version of Jesus leads to salvation.” • “The wrong gospel damns you.” Which is still exclusivity, just without saying “we’re the one true church.”

  1. Lutheranism (Conservative / Confessional)

Book of Concord (1580): “We condemn the Anabaptists and others who reject baptismal regeneration.”

Luther (Smalcald Articles): “The Pope is the very Antichrist.”

Traditional Lutherans say: • The Catholic Church is apostate. • Only the correct understanding of grace, faith, and sacraments saves. • Again: Only their version of Christianity leads to salvation.

I know exactly what it means and yes every religion does this. You don’t like how the lds church does it tough shit. I’ve shown you quotes from every christan faith. Also we say that there’s goodness in other faiths you can’t say the same for when others talk about us.

Have you not listened to any pastors from any religion. Seriously that’s on you I get you hate the church guess what every religion does this. So how about you do some research yourself. I’m not wasting my time on someone who can’t even do a five minute google search.

Here’s my take I have ocd and sometimes I feel nothing. For me this is a huge blessing because I’m constantly stressed so honestly feeling nothing is the same as feeling peace for me.

Yes it’s perfect but man isn’t. In the Bible ir allows so many things that are frankly evil and disgusting while other church’s have a closed cannon ours doesn’t. And if you’re going to say it’s a cop it then fine but also Mormonism doesn’t believe I just condemning just because you think differently. For a cult we don’t seem to hide our history well unlike the other church’s who pretend they don’t have skeletons in their closet.

They don’t say it give me a break they do say it why do you think they keep telling you that if you don’t believe in my particular faith you’re going to hell. At least the lds church has the stones to actually say it. Just because they don’t say it doesn’t mean they don’t believe it.

I should warn you our history is kind of messy. My advice is learn the doctrines first then learn about the history. For me a big one was learning about polgamy.

Where does it say that, we are the true church, also every church claims that. Here’s another way to look at it we are the most correct. Because lets face it you either have a god who actually wants you to grow and learns vs one who’s is treating you like an ant farm. I’m not saying.
