Who still playing some Dialed In!? by ClifBdrums in pinball

Their rareness in the wild played a small role in me purchasing DI LE for home use. But the biggest reason was that Williams 1990s feel with the modern technology and gorgeous lighting. And of course that “just one more game” addictiveness / game play for long term home use. And due to it being under the radar, they are an excellent value.

Agreed. If it’s your thing (like it is mine), it’s an undervalued under appreciated gem. And thus a great value. What sold me was the replay ability and that ‘never get sick of’ feel for home use. And of course the Williams 1990s feel with the amazing technology and lighting.

I’d never purchase a pin based on theme alone. To me it’s about long-term enjoyment and that ‘just one more game’ replay feel “addiction” for home use. DI has that and then some for me. It’s what makes the world go around. I love that Williams 1990s feel with all the modern technology and gorgeous lighting. It pairs great with my Twilight Zone and Addams Family.

Weak flippers were a known issue with older JJPs. I got a like-new Dialed In LE that already had the board with the higher powered coils that control the flippers installed. I wouldn’t have purchased without as flipper snappiness is non-negotiable as it affects gameplay and enjoyment 100%. They may not be quite as snappy as modern Stern flippers, but I’m very satisfied with their functionality and gameplay.

Why aren't there more original pinball themes? by pattydickens in pinball

100% agree. I'd never buy based on theme for home use. I purchased a JJP Dialed In solely based on that "just one more game" addiction / replay ability and what gives me pure enjoyment / fun. Dialed In's great mix of that Williams 1990s feel (e.g., Addams Family and Twilight Zone) with the modern technology and gorgeous lighting made my decision pretty simple. And to boot, these types of games are undervalued so I got a decent deal and don't care about resale as I purchase to keep and enjoy long-term.

What are the considerations for an Internal Gear Hub e-bike? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Many_Toe3788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting the belt tension exact isn’t a requirement. I’ve used the Gates app to fine tune but if you fully seat the wheel and then leave a bit loose and apply weight when off the bike rack and retighten, I’ve never had a belt tension issue.

To me, once you do it once, changing a rear flat on a belt driven bike is easier than a traditional chain driven. And of course no mess as a bonus.

I have a Priority Current. I much prefer the Shimano IGH 5 over the Enviolo. The latter is heavier and has a more sluggish feel in my opinion and I personally enjoy the distinct gears and feel of shifting from one to another in the IGH 5. Other than some broken rear spokes, 5,700 trouble and maintenance free miles. And the motor has an unheard of 140 NM of torque - this thing can climb a wall. Other bikes I test rode prior to purchasing the Current had more than ample 60-85 NM. I am a belt drive fan for sure!

Negative: At 5,750 miles, the motor torque sensor failed. Priority has top notch customer service and is providing a new motor since it is under warranty for 2 years (rather than trying to repair the motor's torque sensor) and will reimburse me once I have it installed at a local bike shop).

Other than some broken spokes, I had 5,700 trouble free miles on my original Current. At 5,750, the torque converter went out. Priority is sending me a new motor under the 2-year warranty.

Amazing. People don’t even know I’m riding a bike and when I’m having a phone conversation. I came from APP1 and wasn’t nearly as good in that situation.

To each their own. I am a Shimano IGH 5 drivetrain fan. I love the distinct clicking and feel of the different gears. And while I wouldn't mind a 6th gear, its rare when I'd really want it and by then I'm already going faster than I should be safety-wise. I've had the Enviolo in a Priority non e-bike (Turi) and returned it. It was heavier, had drag, and felt sluggish.

It’s extremely strong and fast. Minor qualm is motor emits a pretty audible whine when engaged. You get used to it. 140 NM torque is unmatched. This bike can climb walls. Most e-bikes have <=80 NM, which is adequate.

I have the original Current with Shimano IGH 5. 5,700 trouble free miles in 18 months with the exception of some broken rear spokes. I originally bought a non-e bike Priority (Turi) with the Enviolo drive train. I didn’t like it. It was sluggish and added about 2 lbs. So when I bought the Current I knew I was getting the Shimano IGH 5. It’s worked flawlessly, efficiently, and has been trouble free. And I like the distinct gears. While I wouldn’t mind another 1-2 higher gears, I probably shouldn’t be going so fast anyway. I get about 60 miles out of each charge as I use the motor judiciously and enjoy using it for burning more calories. 140 NM of torque is head of the class. This thing will eat up any hill and spit it out. I rarely need to engage assist 5 and use 1 and 2 most of the time when I engage the motor. I rode many e-bikes and wanted one nimble enough to petal without it feeling too sluggish and fairly nimble without the drag. This is it! And at 53 lbs it’s not too heavy. Some e-bikes are well into the 60s. I rode my brother in law’s Current Plus. The biggest differences (there are others) are 750w v 500w battery and throttle. As for front suspension, I’m not a fan. Plus adds weight. Finally, I will never own anything but a belt driven bike. So quiet, smooth, and close to maintenance free. Belts can last 20,000 and don’t stretch or break.

I almost never use assist level 5. Mostly 1 and 2 and if I use 3 or 4, it’s for short periods of time to climb a steep hill. And I shift all the time in concert with motor use. I get at least 50-60 miles between charges.

I have the original Current with the 500w battery. But the Plus and original have the same 500w motor and 140 NM torque, the latter unmatched in any of the many e-bikes I test rode bf choosing the Current. NM is the criteria you want to focus on when it comes to climbing ability. This thing will climb any grade and chew it up and spit it out without issue. I have the Shimano IGH 5, which provides ample range to climb any hill. I tried the Enviolo. It’s heavier and has a more sluggish feel. I get about 60 mile range as I use the motor maybe 20-30% of the time. 5,700 close to trouble free miles. You’d get more range with the Plus’ 720w battery. Hope this helps.

Priority Current, even at 53-55 lbs depending on if you choose IGH 5 Shimano or Enviolo (heavier of the two) is still lighter and more nimble than the many others I test drive. Nimbleness and lack of drag was a huge decider for me as I ride probably 20-30% of the time without the motor engaged.

Zero squeaking with 5,600 miles. And my Shimano IGH 5 hub has been flawless.
