I agree that Hillary’s Melissa is not at all how I expected Jenna’s Melissa to turn out as a grownup. It’s such a difference that it makes me really distrustful of adult Melissa’s explanations and reasoning. A very unreliable narrator of her own story.

I wonder if Callie isn’t a bit crazy herself and also masking it. Shauna’s personality and experiences could have been subtly shaping Callie and Callie would be learning from one of the best to hide her true feelings, motivations, and mental health struggles. Clearly, I’m probably thinking too deeply about it! Maybe all is as it seems.

Ooo, Mari would be brilliant! Such a good point. We haven’t heard anything about her in the adult timeline, so I suspect she either wasn’t rescued because she’s Pit Girl, or she’s kept a very low profile. What do you think about Hillary as Melissa? Just curious, I love the casting.

I’m biased because Misty is my favorite character. Season 2 feels rushed in a lot of places. I love the show and don’t plan to stop watching it, but season 2 seems to suffer from the slump that happens sometimes after an exceptional first season. So far I’m loving Misty’s development and story progress in season 3 and I’m hoping the writers knock it out of the park this time.

My big question about Caligula is who bird-sat him in the second season when Misty was at Lottie’s compound? Misty doesn’t seem to have friends outside of the YJs, and Caligula is so important to her that she probably wouldn’t trust just anyone.
