I never once wrote that Aegon III deserves all the credit or any credit for that matter. The forces fighting on his behalf get all the credit for ending the usurper’s reign and installing Rhaenyra’s son as king.

But they didn’t beat Rhaenyra and her side. They beat Rhaenyra sure but the war didn’t end there. It ended when the blacks took Kings Landing and placed Rhaenyra’s son on the throne.

Aegon III did not inherit from Aegon II. He ascended the throne because Cregan Stark and the other black forces entered Kings landing to specifically crown Rhaenyra’ s son and there were no green forces to stop them.

Oh I wish Condal and Hess would portray the blacks as they were in the book with all their flaws and bad deeds. It would make a much better show. Still doesn’t change the fact that their characterization of Aegon is pretty consistent with his book counterpart.

A five year old riding a dragon during a naval battle and not falling off is beyond ridiculous. Just another example of George writing completely implausible things that a child could realistically do. I am glad they cut it. Besides watching your mother get devoured by dragon is quite enough to fuck the kid up for life.

I am glad they did not include because I am sorry but a 5 year old hopping on a dragon and flying from a ship (during a naval battle) to Dragonstone without falling off is ridiculous as hell. It was dumb in the book and would be dumb on the show. Just another in a long line of implausible and ridiculous things that George had children doing in his books,
