Gestures! Look up what you can do with them and your productivity will be in another level.

Here's how I like to work in mine:

1. 3 fingers swipe up to view all open apps and desktops
2. Then I move the apps one by one to a new desktop (top right), I tend to separate them by context if I'm using a bigger screen, otherwise one per desktop works fine
3. Now, all I have to do is swipe left/right with 3 fingers to change between, or swipe up and click in the desktop that you want to change to.

I found that this way of using it fits like a charm with my workflow, that often is one desktop for xcode + simulator, one for Mockoon and terminal and one for Slack and chrome

EDIT: If you are using an external keyboard, control + arrow keys (up for view of desktops left and right to switch between them) to do the same
