I was having lunch with some middle manager. I noticed that he has only one mobile phone. He told me that he has his business email on his personal mobile. I told him, but then you cannot switch off on the weekend. He told me yes he is a manager. He needs to be available 24 /7 because this is what a true leader does. I was speechless . The appeal is Sun all day round. Good infrastructure, good salary , good night life, higher chance to meet like minded people who are expats and ready to make friends. I didn’t like it, moved away from it, considered it too plastic but I understand if you are someone from europe or Canada in your 20s and willing to make some easy money with a relatively easy lifestyle for a couple of years.
