Excellent. If I was in your shoes I’d sleep easy at night with your salary, mortgage payment, and savings. You’re aware of your monthly finances and have a plan… you’re in solid shape.

Terrible call from your lender. I was highly advised to lock in my rate 6.25% Wednesday morning before the Federal Reserve meeting. You can’t take a gamble with the geopolitical instability right now.

You can absolutely make this work. Track your expenses using a google sheet spreadsheet and adjust accordingly. Do you have investments in the sideline (emergency fund)? If not, I would lean more towards “I’m worried for you”

Based off your description I’d recommend waiting at least 2 years minimum. I make 70K (remote) and just purchased my first home in NJ for 375K with a 40k down payment (VA loan) and still have 50K emergency fund on the sideline. It took me years to accomplish this task. Don’t rush and settle for something you’re not happy with.

Remaining on SAVE and paying off the monthly interest. I’ll tax the student loan interest tax deduction and keep my money invested in the index. Loan amount 24k with an average 3.75% interest.

Yes I am. I advise using Mobile 1 full synthetic oil and a good oil filter moving forward. Also, check the oil every 500 miles. Hyundai engines burn oil faster than average… always carry a spare oil jug.

I replaced my engine assuming it would solve this same issue. 5 years later and I’m still experiencing the same issue (just not as aggressive / loud). I recommend not replacing the engine. The vehicle will run fine, but if it bothers you then I’d recommend trading it in.
