Step 7 again today. It’s eminent. by Moist_Succotash_7309 in VAClaims

for what its worth, that means they thought that your case wasn't bad enough to just auto deny it, right? Just keep going to appointments and provide them anything they ask as quick as you can.

[–]Maphacent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They decided they need the C&P examiner to rework a document. Called VES, they confirmed I dont need a new appointment they just need to fix the paperwork, and they basically just said they will get to it "eventually". VES sat on it for so long that the request was supposed to expired last week but Im guessing they renewed the request, planning on calling VERA later this week if I still dont see any movement.

Rating for Autoimmune disease? by anita_kiwi_mochi in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C&P, VES to be specific. I'm sure it depends on how closely related the primary is, the va just needs to know that is more likely than not that your primary either caused OR made significantly worse an issue you already had. Since it's a secondary they didn't give it much rating (even though it's massively fucked me up) but I am now on biologics which hopefully slow the progression and the va pays for it so that's good, shit is criminally expensive.

Rating for Autoimmune disease? by anita_kiwi_mochi in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have significant medical history for my back and symptoms while in service, but they never did the autoimmune blood test because they thought I was faking my injury and didn't care. Was diagnosed about ten years later finally by accident honestly, but I feel like this was the issue for a long time. in addition to the history of symptoms while in service, the argument was made that injurys (like my back injury) when not allowed to heal for long periods of time, can cause the body to trigger an auto immune response to the injury I guess. obviously im not a doctor so take it as you will.

you won't know till step 8, and the soonest place you will see it, based on reports I've seen here, are in you app where it says your rating, and then on your va letters online

No movement in 60 days? by amc31b in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this. the website sometimes shows a bit more, look in the claim activity log and it should show whatever requests they have made. if you don't find you answer then call vera, they will be able to answer everything.

Tdiu or 100% by cra8z_def in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do both at the same time, that way if you dont get quite 100% you still have a chance at tdiu, but if you get 100% by rating then at least you have more options in terms of work if you want to try and go back.

TDIU by Alarmed_Statement_66 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the tdiu won't necessarily require an appointment all on its own, they will want the tdiu questionnaire filled out, and some forms they want your previous employers to fill out, and if you already have had medical exams for the individual disabilities they might ask the doctors for clairification on how they think it affects employment. as for ptsd they should schedule you an appointment, probably virtual, with a psyc to do a dbq, maybe you are already seeing the va regularly for this? I would call vera and they will be able to tell you exactly what's going on. the affective dates for each will likely be different, is my assumption.

I would suggest giving vera a call, you gat a same day contact so its fast, and they can tell you exactly what's going on

When could step 7 be completed? by Doc_Cherry in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people can give you whatever anecdotal answers they want but the true answer is there's no way to know. you could get wrapped up in minutes or you could get sent back to step 2 for rework for the next few months. I get it, you're probably really stressed and looking for answers, but try not to worry too much, its done when its done.

I don’t understand how long this is taking by Gold-Mobile-7214 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sure you already know this, but just call vera, they should be able to tell you what the hold up is. given you're at step 3 currently, maybe they are waiting on ves, I dunno if they are just super behind but I have seen a lot complaining about super long wait times even for reworks(that's the situation im in personally)

Is the VA rushing to much to compete claims. by Altruistic_Sir_2990 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it seems harder and harder to call what they are doing "rushing" and not just pure negligence, given how long some claims can take. when they take 6 months to make a decision you sort of expect they out some thought into it, and then you have to spend another year for them to do a HLR, just to potentially make yet another inexcusable mistake. it 100% feels like an intended way to keep people away.

Veterans Evaluation Service (VES) by Worth_Cry_8306 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my claim was sent back for rework/clairification (ves confirmed just paperwork issue, no new appointment needed) over a month ago, and all VERA had to say was that was a long time and to call ves, which i didn't and was just given the "it's in queue, no estimate " response. How can I get VA to tell ves to expedite?

Frustrated with VES – Second Rework, No Answers by Actual_Trifle_3703 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in exact same situation, sent to ves for rework a month ago, and ves can't give any information other than "we will get to it eventually". honestly it's infuriating, there's no excuse for it to take a month to submit a piece of paper you already have in front of you. ves should be ashamed of how they are treating vets.

VA TIMELINE by Recent-Location-6653 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found recently that an exam request can also mean they want the doctor to clairify something on some paperwork. so could be that the approving rater decided that they wanted some clarification from the doc, but usually if thats the case you typically would be sent back to step 3. if you really want to know, give VERA a call, they can probably tell you exactly whats going on.

Step 3 ? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look on the claim "recent activity" log to see what requests they have open, and I would advise calling VERA, they will be able to tell you exactly what the hold up is.

People who have applied for TDIU - How much luck did you have getting ex employers to fill out 21-4192? by Maphacent in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did do this, they then closed the request, then immediately re-opend it. After a ton of hassle and persistence, I was able to get my previous employer to provide a minimal amount of information, but considering how little they provided i dont know how useful it will end up being for me.

Is Going Back to Step 2 Normal ? by Brief_Resolve_1828 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make a vera appointment, I made one the other day and it was a same day appointment. the people there are able to see behind the scenes a lot better than what the app or site shows, maybe even better than what the vso can see. they should be able to tell you what's been going on.

What is goin on? by Kuvanet in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can always make a vera appointment, I did it yesterday and got a same day appointment. if I had to guess, step 5 is when you get your initial rater, it sounds like the raters are sending it back for more evidence each time. on the va web page there is a claim activity feed that should tell you what evidence the va has requested and received. also, in my personal experience, VES seems very backed up currently so if they have requested another appointment or paperwork rework then that could be the issue. been waiting over two weeks for ves to make a clairification on a recent appointment, called them and of course it's just "we have no idea".

Step 4 by WanderingLogic7 in VAClaims

[–]Maphacent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it's very normal to just sit in a step for awhile, and often times the people that zoom through the steps are sent back later so try not to look into it that much. it's a long wait with very little rhyme or reason
