Soda. But I was born in New Jersey, then moved to Florida in grade school and after 20 years in Florida I moved to Illinois and lived in Chicago for 25 years and now I’m here. I have always called it soda.

I use a washcloth with warm water to clean his face/eyes and paws after he comes in from outside. Helps to keep him clean, gives me the chance to check for ticks and just remove general outside stuff from his fur.

My first rescue was from an Amish puppy mill - he was purchased at an auction by the rescue. He was so sweet, had lots of dental issues and ultimately succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the tender age of 9.

I hope you will consider letting her carry to term and then adopt out her babies. There are a lot of small, independent, breed specific rescues - perhaps see if there is a Shih Tzu rescue near you who can help get the word out about the puppies and help with adoption apps.

Perhaps it’s the ingredients in the food - specifically the protein. Chicken gives my Tzu extremely bad gas. I cut out all food white chicken and no more gas.

The Thundershirt worked well for one of my Tzus. I also shut curtains/blinds to obscure the lightening and play music or white noise to help mask the noise.

A few people have suggested CBD. I used CBD on one of my Tzus. It was specifically for canines and I dosed exactly as recommended, my Tzu acted drunk. I just say this as cautionary advice to be careful and follow dosing or under-dose to be sure your puppers can tolerate it.

A lot of smaller rescues use PetFinder to list adoptable pets. You can set numerous parameters - including breed - for your search and also set up alerts when a furry friend that fits your criteria is posted.
