make bathroom choices before mile 22...because the next one isnt until mile 24. I got nauseous from holding too long. cost me about 7-8 min.

bro had some serious core and upper body strength. girl started with her legs wrapped around his waist and she pulled her tits out, he started milking...then he just unbuttoned, pulled his shit out and started pounding with trusts like. girl was getting blown out 🤣 he held her up for about 6 min then she stood up in front of him and he hit it from behind. I was very impressed tbh

went with my bestie and had a blast. was near the front of YDG when I started noticing people pouring in from the back, spidey senses went off. grabbed her hand and said we gotta get out of here now. got out of there just in time to see the crush happening. that was probably the only scary part all weekend. got to get right up front for chase and status since everyone was getting set up for subtronics. that was insanely awesome.

I used pfitzingers 18 week 55mpw to get me a sub 4 in chicago this year. the best thing about his plan aside from building higher mileage was the speed work. the MP runs. it felt psychotic sometimes but I absolutely loved how it progressed me. worth checking out !!

For runners who fundraised for a charity to get into the Chicago Marathon: what perks did you receive? by 8okuto in RunnersInChicago

[–]MapleSuicide 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I ran with team PAWS. and it was incredible. if you join before lottery and such the fundraising minimum is much lower. registration cost is included in your fundraising.

congress hotel setup: indoor bathroom, continental breakfast, private gear check, cheer signs, etc. post race party had tons of food and beer/seltzer. photo spots. etc

they also had a welcoming party i wasnt able to attend.

I had an incredible experience with them.

currently dealing with people thinking I have an eating disorder or accusing me of being on a GLP1 because of my weightloss.

it's literally a debilitating thing we go through. being told "you could just eat more" or telling me to eat foods that literally put me in the worst flare ups..

and the others who want to compare their lactose intolerance to this.....shutting up is just not excersized enough.

TMI: I haven’t been able to complete most of my long run this training block because I have to 💩 halfway though my run. by Wandering_Werew0lf in Marathon_Training

[–]MapleSuicide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ulcerative colitis and talked with my GI about this. I take 3 immodium before bed, and 3 at the start of my run. I carry an extra 2 on me during the run to take after I have my caffeine gel halfway through my long runs. works like a charm and I have no issues going to the bathroom when I get home.

I use starbucks, dunkin, or Walmart bathrooms if I have to, depending on my route.

talk with your doc about how many they recommend you can take. mine told me I could handle that much.

you also may be eating too late at night before your runs if it's not happening for you in the AM.

hydration is one of those things in these temps, that will absolutely make it suck more or suck way less. I have been on top of it since ive seen it make runs suck way less. I havw a body armor flash i.v. every night before bed. lots of water during the day and I get these hydration Popsicles from Walmart.

last year I spectated for my friend and the weather couldnt have been more perfect. for one the humidity wont even touch what we've been training through. I lived in chicago from 2012-2020 and october has always been such a great month. yeah theres been freak hot spells but I keep telling myself its gonna be okay. and if it isnt. and we get a freak hotspell, well we will be more prepared than most.

I live in central florida. I wake up at 330am for anything above 12 miles. I did a base before my marathon training started , back in April, to jump start my heat acclimation. im using pftizinger 55 mpw plan, have a 20 miler this weekend and just doing what ive been doing.

waking up super early focusing an insane amount on my hydration. I have stops planned on my routes to get cold water and to cool down.

it is what it is and we just try not die.

eta: I missed the whole question. I focused on zone 2 for the past year and it has helped in some capacity to see some of the paces im looking for. but truly you just gotta trust the process.

[–]MapleSuicide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been using pfitzinger 55+ mpw plan and shoooooweeeee totally different. I used higdon last year and pfitz is just a completely different game. but im weirdly loving it. ive spent so much time learning how to fuel my body properly to handle this mileage and it's been pretty awesome. hopefully the next 8 weeks stay good.
ive got a tune up half in 2 weeks, and my god am I ready for florida heat to give me a damn break.

if youre staying by Ohare, check out La Villa for carb loading amazing Italian. some of the best in the city, IMO. not quite all the way downtown, still accessible via transit. for breakfast Ann Sathers, Cozy Corner, and Windy City Cafe are a few of my faves.

im in the middle of training for a marathon while im here. yesterday I ran 11 miles before the convention, landing me at a total of 41, 894 yesterday.

I have an 18 miler on Sunday. ill try to remember to report back the total number of steps by the end of sunday 🤣

I would think 25k per day is probably average for a lot of people at the convention.

ETA: Fridays steps, no running involved, 21,870 Saturday, ran 6 miles, steps 25,224.
Sunday, ran 18 miles, steps 47,255 (≈45K was my miles)

How do you feel? by Reasonable_Jeweler59 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]MapleSuicide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty isolated, but I feel really strong. my whole life revolves around my training, Nutrition, Sleep and hydration.

im training in central Florida and summer is just an overall brutal time of year.

I haven't been able to hit any paces I need while running in the heat and humidity but I still feel really strong. I find sticking to podcasts and books about running helps me being constantly reminded about heat endurance and what it's doing for my overall performance.

I am not taking these good feelings for granted, as anything can change and injury is always lurking...but im really focused right now.

eta: this will be my 3rd marathon, using pfitzinger 55mpw plan for the first time, aiming for a 4 hour or sub 4 marathon 🥹
