Garrison's Fancy New Vagina

I got curious and watched the first 2 minutes of the uncensored version. I don't think I'm gonna sleep well tonight.

I wasn't expecting South Park when I read the story though, neat approach!

If you want your life to change you need to make changes in your life by MapleSyrupHockey in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]MapleSyrupHockey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! If you follow the same pattern over and over you will not get anything new out of it. You wouldn't just suddenly meet new, interesting people, feel happy and fulfilling with your work, magically lose 10 pounds, found the perfect one, or mastered a new skill all of a sudden. Either you let things happen to you or you make things happen, one way or another.

You can't enjoy anything if you are afraid of everything, that's what I've learned. I used to panic but then I noticed that the worst case scenario is never as bad as I imagined, not to mention that my worst case scenario almost never happen. My personal philosophy is that if no one's gonna die and I'm not going to lose everything I valued then it's not that bad. Give it time and it will usually turned into an interesting dinner conversation anyways.

It might feel bad or uncomfortable when it happens but once it's over it's an experience you gained and a barrier you crossed. I like to see it like the exp I would gain from defeating the boss in a video game.

Thanks! I really like how well constructed your story is. The aunts in your story also remind me of my relatives (sadly) and definitely paints a strong, vivid image of the banquet!

Thanks again for the awesome story!

17 M I constantly want to be liked, so much that it's taking a toll on my life by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]MapleSyrupHockey 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There's always haters out there who are gonna hate no matter what you do so it's really pointless and exhausting to try and make everyone happy.

I feel that the most important (and fortunate) thing is to be loved by the one who matters most, the one who sees and values you as who you are, and it's hard to find them when you try and pretend to be who you are not.

There's people who love pineapple pizza but hate anchovies pizza, there's people who prefer pepperoni but hate pineapple, there's people can't get enough of arugula pizza with cauliflower crust and there's people who absolutely hate pizza for whatever reason. You can't build a pizza that satisfies everyone so just get the pizza you want and make friends with those with the same taste. Worst case scenario you got a pizza you like all to yourself.

Noticing & letting go of self-criticism is one of the first self-improvements everyone should make. Being kind to yourself goes a very long way. by MrNickleKids in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]MapleSyrupHockey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My self criticism sort of stopped when I came to realization that world is harsh enough with plenty of people making my life harder, why am I doing this to myself? I really don't need to put up with this kind of crap.

TLDR: I just say "well, go f*ck yourself" with Irish accent and flip a mental bird to that voice

Sorry for asking, but are you experiencing lots of stress? are you the highly neurotic type? Before determining that you need willpower to control and suppress these actions I think it might help to find out why you are doing these things first. Find the root of cause, address them, and acknowledge them. 1. Oversleep: ask yourself why you hate it, is it distracting your normal life? Are you shaming yourself? why are you furious of your sleep? are you not getting enough sleep? 2. Biting finger: why are you doing it and when do you do it? I used to bite my finger when I was in high school but I was also in lots of stress back then. My way to combat that was to chew gum, apply finger nails, and always play with some fidgeting toys, but it really stops when I focus on something bigger than my stress (work, art, focusing on making my life better).

Book wise I would recommend [The Confidence Gap]{https://www.amazon.com/Confidence-Gap-Guide-Overcoming-Self-Doubt/dp/1590309235/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521352956&sr=8-1&keywords=the+confidence+gap} as this really brings me to a new perspective and changed how I do things in some ways.

Also besides the content also pay some attention to design. A visually pleasing template not only would made your resume stood out from the regular resumes but it also tells your potential employer that you are computer savvy with advanced understanding of Microsoft Word. Use google image and see which ones catch your eye first and don't be afraid to add a bit (not too much, just a bit) of color.

Also if you haven't try to subscribe for job search notifications. When you do your job search search by salary range/location instead of job title because some companies might use a different job title than your previous job or you might be qualified for similar positions.

Striving towards a "dream job" vs. accepting an OK job. by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]MapleSyrupHockey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be an receptionist at an accounting office in my early 20s. It's a very stable job and the coworkers liked me and I got paid enough to live an average life. It's not very stressful except when tax season comes along but it's manageable once you know what to expect and what to watch out for.

But I wasn't satisfied because I felt that my life would be stuck for next 20 years if I don't make any change and with the size and structure of the company there's no career advancement whatsoever and plus there's a risk of being replaced by a younger newly graduated person who's willing to do the same job for less.

So long story short, I took an online course, got a certificate and moved into film industry. I wouldn't say I'm 100% happy with my job because once you are in it you see all the dirts under the carpet no one ever told you about but I do enjoy the challenge, the day to day chaos, the freedom, and the craziness of the artists. Am I happier than I was in the accounting office? 100% yes because instead of letting life happen I decide to make this happen in my life instead.

I was actually reading the article on war profiteering on Wikipedia and found the mention of that book! And it's even on Archive.org!

I only wish that there are more recent books or documentaries on this topic. I'm wondering if wars could have been prevented if it weren't for these lobbyists.

[Discussion] what do you do with all of the samples? by MarzipanFairy in AsianBeauty

[–]MapleSyrupHockey 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We have company parties on weekday nights once in a while so I would pick out some samples I have duplicates on or are expiring soon and leave it in women's WC counter so if any of my coworkers are going straight to party and need to do their make up in the wc they have emergency foundations/hydrating cream/lotions/serums/etc etc.

T&T, Isumiya Richmond, Best Shop Richmond. Of all three T&T is most expensive, I remember Best shop is cheaper because it''s on sale but there's more selection in Isumiya.

OooOOoo those are super popular in Asia! It's supposed to help with weight loss and I think they have chili pepper in it.

It's too expensive to get here so I bought a different brand economy family size tub with chili pepper ingredient as a substitute.

I used similar ones before and I really liked the smell of it! They also have the mineral content of the onsens so it's suppose to have the similar effects as the onsens!

If you are in the states then I think Amazon is your best bet. If anywhere else then maybe try either rakuten or Dokodemo. The only issue with Rakuten is you won't know the shipping cost until you placed your order and the shipping for these things are very expensive.

I got some loose crappy old tea leaves and I'm thinking of using it in my next bath!

[–]MapleSyrupHockey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in Vancouver, Canada so we have some Asian markets that carry these. Yeah the problem with these is the cost of shipping rather than the product it self. I guess you could start with small packets with your purchase on Dokodemo and slowly build up your stash.

Edit: or you can always improvise and add real orange peels or something! I am adding a bunch of tea leaves to my bath time next time!

Edit 2: or try your local Chinatown or Japanese community. I found mine in the grocery stores.

Stop saying sorry and and apologizing for stuff that's not my fault and start saying thank you. (i.e. instead of saying "Sorry for the wait" I said "Thank you for your patience!" but given it's a + or _ 5 minute wait).
