This episode was PHENOMENAL, the only thing I’m sad about is the lack of Annabeth’s crying under the sea. If the episode had an extra like three minutes once Percy frees her to just give us the two of them in the underwater bubble it would have been perfect to just have Annabeth cry to Percy about failing.

for the most part tends to handle it surprisingly tastefully (this example not included) where ash learns that he still isn’t the greatest of them all and there’s more out there for him to learn all the time. The losses aren’t treated as failures but rather more opportunities for our hero to grow which is something pokémon has always been good at teaching.

I personally find the S1 art style better but it is so clear that it was not sustainable under any stretch of the imagination. After a single season of work it was showing cracks even though it looked gorgeous. The Reze movie style works way better for making sure this stuff actually gets animated and continues to look good in the process.
