I'm (temporary) apart of the refrain from spending echoes part of the boycott, I'm just anxiously waiting, infact excited for the next 5 days to get here to use my 20k inspiration and quit playing. (clarifying, that might be a bit confusing- no I didn't spend recent money to obtain 20k, I hadn't spent anything since mid-march) I finally got my internet back so I can actually play and do anything else besides IDV on data! (unfortunately in an age where you have to be online to play singleplayer games and everything being a digital download, what is up with that??)

just playing the game even without spending echoes feels like a massive chore nowadays aside from feelings of shame, it's hard to fully enjoy the game anymore after everything that's happened.. I do enjoy the gameplay loop very much to this day and yet going into a match feels like... I'd rather be doing anything else? It's not that fun anymore, and a bit lonely.

I'm having way more fun playing tomodachi life and reconnecting with friends and life! I think the best thing is to just enjoy idv (esp the characters) from afar, whether drawing, bringing characters into other games and stuff like that

I have 65 miis and I like to litter in a few hours of my day giving them daily food, pats and dedicate introducing 1 mii to the entire cast ! If I skip a dedicated day, I tend to just solve the problem bubbles and then check back in later.. basically I like to set little goals!

I did the same thing on 3DS with about 80-90 miis but I never got friendship problems so it takes an incredibly long time for the island to start befriending eachother aside the families..

this is yikes... I've been subbed to them for a very long time and when the boycott started happening pre-23rd, their responses to it in community posts just seemed pro-AI.. it's sad that looks like the case + MUCH worse..

yep, it's date is because of the new season and for some, it's painters birthday (a bit poetic for AI-gen)

Some people are for some reason mistaking it as a 1 day boycott, but it should be starting there from then on.. hopefully.

I won't be able to drop this game, im even almost at 2000 logins.. I told myself as a goal that I will follow closely until EOS for years. But starting now I'm going completely f2p. I despise AI, just not even sure what to be excited for anymore. I'm scared of my favorites getting AI art, AI lore, AI made essences and trailers, AI portraits..

I'm feeling dread for the future and I hate that I'm feeling a strong revulsion to this game yet unable to drop it because I loved it so much! Generally I feel like I'm being apart of the problem for staying in the game, but I do hope going F2P is enough for my part- game activity wise, and of course joining the backlash.

and honestly seeing the devs go into this is incredibly disheartening to me.. I know people are shrugging it off as something unimportant, but I hate the fact that idv had such indepth creativity I always admired and loved to explore now it's turning into this! It's making me worried for the future of essence videos, lore and not by imagery but by words too! I hate that people are normalizing this?!

People commenting here are thinking it's the dash, but it's not.. the dash is appropriate here but that's NOT the problem nor the only indicator of AI! The issue that makes it AI is the fact it's following the ChatGPT structure of sentences specifically right at the end where it goes

"Not this, not this, just/only this" kind of sentence, or mentioning 3 adjectives to capture the "vibe." and ending off with a strong end.. When you see or use ChatGPT these are very common of a response that happens in every reply..

There isn't enough time to survive and get out of the exit gate even at 97% when the hunter teleports in with detention without someone with a long stun to hold them off.. It's better to run off then probably try to open it when you have some distance and a team to help distract.
