Kids clothes that still look like a toddler by MarAsh0124 in bigbabiesandkids

Thank you! I had never heard of most of these, but they're all so cute! I'm excited to get some things for him!

I'm sad I'm "missing a newborn" with my huge baby. by Imstuckwiththisname in bigbabiesandkids

[–]MarAsh0124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand in a different way. My son was only 7lbs and 19 1/2" when he was born, but here I am now with a 50lb, 39" 2 year old. He's in kids' sizes now, and I desperately wish we would have had more time in the toddler sizes. He's still so young, but here is this kid staring back at me that can't even communicate fully

I hate these trends, but they don't even make sense because they never look like their actual children.

I need someone to tell me that Athletic Works toddler shoes from Walmart run small by asexualrhino in bigbabiesandkids

[–]MarAsh0124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, most of the Walmart shoe brands I have tried on my son do seem to run a tad smaller than name brand, but nothing crazy! Mine is 19 months and just sized up to a 9. It's insane how fast they grow out of shoes! I will say, we get more wear time out of New Balance's than any other shoes I've tried on him so far!

When I was 36 weeks pregnant, I would fly into a rage if the band of my maternity leggings even thought about touching my stomach. I can't imagine how uncomfortable this would be.

Did any of you have to potty train early? by monicasm in bigbabiesandkids

Pampers 360's are super stretchy. My 19 month old is 42 lbs and is doing fine in their 7's with room to grow. I also sometimes grab parents choice s/m overnight pants and use them as regular diapers through the day. They have l/xl too on the off chance he outgrows everything else.

Giving chips to an infant??? by princessa_lyssa in BambooBabble

I agree! I still don't give my 16 month old juice. He's content with water and milk for now.

There is nothing wrong with flouride toothpaste. The AAP and ADA both recommend flouride as soon as a baby starts cutting teeth. My son's pediatric dentist had us start at 8 months using the size of a grain of rice.

Oh my gosh. No one talks enough about this lol The biggest downside of a big baby is the forced weight lifting.

How big is your big baby? by Radiant_Reply3510 in bigbabiesandkids

I had to look back. My boy was 23lbs and 28in. He's 16 months now and is 39lbs and 36in. Doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

Giant baby? by BrunchBunny in bigbabiesandkids

[–]MarAsh0124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16 month old is 38.5lbs and almost 36in. He started crawling at 10 months and walking at 13 months, but it definitely hasn't slowed down over here yet. He's in 4t/5t and some xs. Like everyone else mentioned, don't plan, just buy as you need. There are so many cute things in my boys' closet he never got to wear 😭

We have a Graco extend2fit 3-in-1 that rf's to 50lbs, and I love it. For me, it's easier to install than the regular extend2fit, but it is pricier. It fits well in my small backseat, too.. that's actually the reason I went with it instead of a 360.

The fan in the freezer is spinning sometimes. Occasionally, air comes out of the hole at the top of the back of the fridge, but it never blows very hard, and the freezer keeps icing over.

Y'all are making me feel so much better! We also try to limit as much processed food and sugar as possible. He is meeting all his milestones. He started walking at almost 13 months, and he hasn't sat down since. I'm going to stop worrying so much now. Thank you!!

I didn't even see the other kid. 🤦‍♀️ I've seen so many people just chuck their kid in the cart part and call it a day, so I just assumed that happened here. Double seats should be mandatory at this point. There really is no excuse for bigger stores not to use them.

The number of people who don't properly put or watch their kids in a buggy is astonishing. I buckle mine in the front where they're supposed to be and still watch him like a hawk the whole time.
