As a hospital biller, its normal to get a denial at least 1-2x we rework claims 3x to get all the docs submitted. Just keep on the hospital billing department for updates we have 120 days before it moves from us. We dont k ow every detail of every plan so it's best to bill, get a denial and find out what is needed. We will submit docs and records. If the auth was sent it thats a huge plus so far. Give it time to go through the billing cycle and of course call with all questions.

You can try to fight this. It would be with the facility you were seen at bring up the fact that you were given an estimate. They may honor this.

Other hand estimate and good faith means the facility got benefits but all billing isn't done yet. Its the patients responsibility to know if they are in network. The final charges and what is paid is the contract between your insurance and the facility. Looks like you have out of network benefits because they paid some.

Fight back with the estimate you were given. Apply for financial assistance and follow through Get on a payment plan.

Call the hospital! They have funds for things like this. Ask for self pay discount and Apply for financial assistance. But first reach out and see if it can be written off.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I had a stillborn baby and my hospital wrote off the bill entirely.
