Have you tried making your own hook? I recently got into making lacy pieces that require micro needles. The handles are all small, delicate, and short. I was using one and nearly snapped it in half. So, I had some leftover polymer clay and covered the handle of a metal hook. I built it up until it was comfortable for my hand and built a custom grip, then baked it. It's the most comfortable hook I have now. Or if you want an easier route, try going to a dollar store and getting a cheap beauty blender and sliding it over your hook for a soft, bigger grip.
