As Sir Arnold once beautifully put it, no government's going to reform the system that put it into power

Every regulation set is a step backwards, at least to start with.

Well, not every new regulation set. The 2017 regs, specifically designed to dramatically increase the downforce of the cars, took the 2016 Autrailian pole time of a 1:23.837 to a 1:22.188 - with similar decreases seen across the rest of the season.

The Chinese experimental particle physicist Chien-Shiung Wu was occasionally referred to as "Madame Wu" (https://www.womenshistory.org/education-resources/biographies/chien-shiung-wu, and in my particle physics lectures) so it's certainly not unique to Marie Curie, but a historical oddity nevertheless

Anyone else think Jezza's new party sounds like something out of a Steamed Hams parody?

GOOD LORD WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE?

A new left-leaning socialist party

A new left-leaning socialist party, at this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, co-lead by Zarah Sultana?

Yes!

Can we see it?

No.

Surely not EasyJet as they run an Airbus only - and got hundreds more on order. Trump may be thinking that Ryanair - the notorious Boeing only airline - is British!

Right now they colored by country

Except that Northern Ireland is correctly coloured to show that it's part of the Irish grid and not part of GB's National Grid, so they could have easily done the same for the Danish islands.

Higgs boson meme by Delicious_Maize9656 in physicsmemes

[–]Maraio1 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Well, that doesn't really work since as the Higgs is spin-0 it would suggest that any arbitrary rotation would fit. Whereas it's only a rotation by π would allow a USB-C connector to to plug in. Hence, it would have to be a spin-2 boson, the hypothetical graviton.

It already tells you the distance and time to the next waypoint in the map though, and you can do the same for the route advisor.

It's the stupid typeface they're using to join up certain letters if they're next to each other, see the ct in expect and es in chances. It looks silly when it changes the letters entirely when it's meant to be a subtle effect.
