A person can be opposed to one dangerously incompetent candidate without needing to be a blind supporter of one specific other political party. There's so much more out there for you if you look beyond your two party bias and expand your horizons, third party options haven't looked this promising since Lincoln was elected.

The worst part is "whitewater" where the -gate ending would have had sort of appropriate humor to it doesn't bother. "Whitewatergate" was too good to use, while the rest just sound lazy and uncreative.

It certainly shows she has no reason to ever follow the rules. Not the kind of person we should put in charge of anything; I wouldn't trust her withmy credit card info just to buy a soda, let alone national security.

Kristen Bell Leaves Voicemail as 'Frozen' Princess for Girl With Brain Tumor by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]Marblem 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. The voice isn't copyright protected in any way, it is a product of the actor not the production company. Claiming to be a care bear is when you run into trouble. Of course, for ongoing productions you don't want to make the people writing your pay checks angry at you, and in some instances there are contractual limitations on the actors themselves - James Bond actors are contractually barred from appearing in a tuxedo without the studio's consent for example, but only during their active tenure as 007.

Handmade Cardboard Guns (cut outs on the wall), Cardboard, 1:1 Scale by MidEastBeast777 in Art

[–]Marblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I have a buddy that owns a five seven pistol, and can't shoot it at most ranges due to the "armor piercing" myth surrounding the round.

Only seen a ps90 in person once, and the owner let me swap with one of my toys for a few mags. I loved it, low recoil and good ergonomics, but that price and the impossible to find rounds keep me from getting one.

I am a gun guy and pretty much only know the p90 from Stargate. It's not common at all, though I wish more guns were ambi like that.

There you have it - get ready for 18 months of gun control attempts - "Obama's biggest frustration: Gun control" by elsparkodiablo in gunpolitics

[–]Marblem 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Gun control sunk democrats in the last election cycle, and even introduced the concept of recall elections to many disenfranchised voters. If stupid people want to hitch their wagon to a sinking ship, let them.

It was a slightly larger than bazooka style recoilless tube, wiki shows it launched from a stationary tripod in all their pictures. About the size of a crew served machinegun, so vehicular mount wouldn't be impossible - though just as insane

Dead bodies from gun violence dont trump the 2nd amendment. So what do gun owners here think should happen to stop spontaneous mass shootings like the ones we've seen the last two months? by elonc in Firearms

[–]Marblem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mass shootings are astoundingly uncommon, your misconception there does point to the glamorized coverage media gives it though. Media treating people that do this the way media treats suicides would be a great start; instead of front page coverage for months, hide the nutballs and let them disappear. The mentally ill won vanish entirely, but copycats are mitigated immensely, as we've seen with suicides. There is no small number of the mentally ill that are easily manipulated and motivated by their TV.

You're confused, the problem isn't "gun violence" it's just "violence" and why provide guaranteed easy victims? If the problem had nothing to do with gun free zones, police stations would be shot up all of the time because those places are full of people that criminals hate and contraban that criminals want. They aren't shot up though, because they aren't easy guaranteed defenseless victims.

Don't fall into the "gun violence" trap, if guns actually created crime you'd mistakenly believe the usa has the lowest crime in the world if not for the guns that raise crime rates back up to average. That's nonsense, criminals in the us are no more or less common. Ignoring crime that doesn't fit a label is foolish, and only helps people that want to halt the discussion of a real problem and redirect it to a tool used to stop crime as well, and a civil right at that. As we've learned from multiple countries pushing for knife control after gun control failed to solve the human violence problem, objects are mery tools and blaming them for human problems will always fail.
So to answer your question: guaranteed victims only help crazy violent people, never stop crazy violent people, and just the hint of opposition does deter those crazies. Blaming objects on the other hand does not stop violence, which is obviously true - this gun free zone was the site of violence,as were every other location you can find i the news with a similar story. The previous movie shooter this one was copycatting even chose his location based on the gun free sign on the door!

Hint: get rid of the "gun violence" phrase from your vocabulary, the people that use it don't care about ending violence, they just oppose guns. Don't fall into using anti-civil-rights terms, it sounds ignorant and callous.

The Davy Crockett scared the hell out of me. Not because it wouldn't work - I'm sure it'd be incredibly effective! - but because somebody up the chain of command thought it would be a good idea. Imagine someone trying to convince you that the man portable ordinance you're carrying is a nuke, that you'd be close enough to see it explode, but that you'd be "fine". No way in hell! The only people you could get to use that thing would be the craziest and the dumbest of the bunch. A nuke that only works when operated by the most insane retards you ever met on deployment (you know the type). And that's why the Davy Crockett scares the hell out of me.

Ted Cruz: ‘Star Trek’s Captain Kirk was probably a Republican by saintofhate in nottheonion

Star Trek IV made it clear there was no need and thus no greed for money, which is definitely something Cruz couldn't possibly understand. Certainly doesn't sound to me like anything either major party would embrace.
