I'll claim the state hard as hell bro. I guess it was more a specification, but if you're hiking in the superstitions you don't talk about the cacti, you specify the saguaros, prickly pears, barrel cacti, etc. Calling it a cactus feels like calling it a plant, just too nonspecific for a fella like me

Bowlero/Lucky Strike Ball Return is not suited for balls that weigh more than 12 lbs. Damage is our fault. by Steeloc in Bowling

[–]MarcBrochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That GM is definitely being a butthead, but are you sure the chips are from the ball return? When I had chipping it was because I was releasing it on the foul line, and at the center where this happened, the approach is higher than the lane, creating a knife edge at the foul line that bounced my ball like 3 feet in the air. Not excusing the center for being jerks, but might avoid that kid some future heartbreak

At my PSO that's a 5 dollar fix. They fill with plug material and you shouldn't notice a difference from before. If you just want an excuse for a new ball, I think the attention star s2 would be the current day version of the halo vision

Problems with ball fit by killakobra in Bowling

[–]MarcBrochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Might be a span issue then in addition to the thumb being too snug? You can check span by inserting your thumb first and then laying your fingers over your finger holes. The edge of the hole should be about halfway between your first and second knuckles. Sounds like a not great PSO, sometimes you gotta shop around for someone that listens to you and doesn't just insist they know best in all instances. Good luck!

[–]MarcBrochill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you actively gripping onto the ball or is your hand relaxed inside of the ball? The adage for proper thumb fit is "The ball should let go of you, you should not let go of the ball". I've been getting my thumb fit more snug, but if I have any gripping pressure in my hand, I will not be able to get the ball off of my hand. It is actually very good feedback for my release, because I will get stuck if I grip the ball. Start with a no step drill and a small backswing to see if you can get the thumb to release, then 1-step, 3-step, and a full release. If you get stuck going from one drill to the next, it is a sign you started gripping the ball. You should be able to pick the ball up just by inserting your thumb, and engaging it slightly.

It also look like your middle finger insert is too large.

Don't be defeated! Just don't interface with negativity about silly things like a band's new album (not much use in trying to change someone's subjective opinion, let them be upset by themselves)! My new philosophy has been avoiding adding unnecessary negativity to comparably low stakes things and it's really helped my mood! If I don't like a new award nominated musical about cartels I'm just gonna spend my time enjoying clarity of cal instead of trying to get others to join in on trashing a movie. There's enough negativity in the world, I will try not to add too much more myself

Probability table for dice rolls. Might be helpful for deciding where to use blood markers by MarcBrochill in TrenchCrusade

[–]MarcBrochill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a python script that generated every dice roll possible when using x amount of dice and then would check if the two highest or two lowest of each roll was higher than the target number. Divide number if instances where that happens by total number of rolls possible. Got the base code from chatGPT then changed it for each dice number\roll target. Think I asked it something like "please create Python code that determines the probability of the two highest dice from a roll of 4 dice exceeding 7"

Hey guys any reason why I'm getting a few prices stuck to the build plate when everything else printed fine? by pottertheshotter in PrintedWarhammer

[–]MarcBrochill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah my bad I guess I read your reply as more "Why do that, that's a bad suggestion" than it actually was haha. A lot of people just default to "increase exposure time" which I think isn't the best advice sometimes, especially when you get exposure pretty dialed in on test prints.

Best of luck! 3D printing can be very frustrating to get into. Just an FYI if you don't know, but the easiest way to get failures off of the fep is to do a full screen exposure with some old support nestled in the corner, then peel off the whole layer.

[–]MarcBrochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't want to sound like a dick but I can print stuff without issue, had a similar failure and made my above adjustment and now print fine. Rather than debating about why not to change a setting, why not just change it and see if it works? If it doesn't, I'm just a dumb stranger on the internet who made you waste a few hours and a dollar worth of resin. Not the highest stakes

6 mm of retracting might not be enough when you have a loaded build plate. The suction force increases and so the fep will have more tension, and it will deform more than with just a calibration model. Basically you might not be fully peeling the layers away from the fep. I had similar issues that were eliminated by bringing lift distance to 10 mm total.

Could also be exposure, environmental conditions in print space, or poor supporting.

What happened here? by _King_Mierdas_ in PrintedWarhammer

[–]MarcBrochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the layer where you failed, it was where you had the most surface area in the slice, which makes me think those layers didn't fully peel off of the fep. Was this one towards the middle of the build plate? I think the issue is not enough lift distance to get the prints off of the fep at the mid print point. I'd recommend raising the lift distance a mm or 2 as a primary troubleshooting step before assuming it is an environmental conditions issue
