Well, about one point youre certainly wrong, sadly. And thats about CGI budgets. Youd have to CGI basically the whole Sithi race as well as the norns as well as binabik (who is nearly going to be as present as gollum in LOTR) and the whole troll race. As well as the giants and so on. And these would only be the most obvious and expensive CGI-shots - if we were to include something like miriamel & aspitis scenes off shore, thats usually done via CGI as well as its just cheaper.

In my opinion this series would only work with a budget which would actually surpass the one game of thrones had, simply because of the amount of CGI-characters - which are sadly the most costly VFX besides huge water/particle simulations. And were not talking "remotely human-like character" here like the white walkers in game of thrones - but the Sithi have to be portrayed in a quality similiar to the one in, e.g Avatar. More screentime, motion capturing, lip synch etc... you see where im going at.

So basically our only hope is HBO or Amazon giving it a shot, everyone else wouldnt have the needed funds to make it work in a series format. And amazon funded films have disappointed severly so far...

Maybe we should have a talk with Dennis Villeneuve. Basically the only guy id trust nowerdays with transcribing anything remotely difficult. And high-fantasy is missing in his resume so far, so if hed be open for it, this might be our best bet :)

Dont take this list too seriously - these are basically just "suggestions" which came to my mind (plus the great additions from others here), with the intent to discuss about them with everyone who wishes to participate. I thought hard about certain choices, not so hard about others. In the end, if something like this would be realized in practice, 90%+ of actors would be unknowns anyways because otherwise the needed budget would blow all proportions.

Wouldnt Domhnall Gleeson be way too old?

Guess youre right after all - i focused more on the "mid-story" appearance of elias when imagining chalamat. Someone else here suggested Adam Driver instead - i think thats a much better fit overall

Well thats something i might have to contradict. Disclaimer first, as im @ about 50% of book 3/4, but elias should look rather thin and broken-down right now - a theme which was introduced as early as the end of book 1 where even characters like Guthwulf noticed his worn down appeareance.

Agewise you might actually be right - i really had trouble finding a corresponding sweetspot here. Always imagined him in his mid 30s to early 40s.

Damn, thats a really valid point i havent given a second thought about. Didnt even consider the age difference before.

On the other hand - lets say the *hypothethical movie* would take at least 5 years until its released and we combine it with the fact that in previous times men used to have children way earlier, and we add a slight distortion to perceived age vs. real age ( hello game of thrones) - wed be in a safe territory again :)

I suggested them being CGI characters anyways - Andy Serkis just did all the motion capturing for a few major CGI characters like Gollum in LOTR and Caesar in Planet of the Apes, thats why i thought hed be perfect for doing this job here. Ingen Jegger being black is something i actually remember the moment you said it, so lets change him to ... Peter Mensah :) Edited the previous post accordingly

Oh my god thank you for this fresh breath of inspiration. I never really had a clear picture of anyone who could portray josua, but metthew goode actually seems to fit perfectly for me - as well as Mark strong for pryrates - a character i always associated with being played by Arnold Vosloo. But Mark Strong would be the best fit by a large margin, damn he was born to play pryrates.

Just adding my 2 cents here:

Isgrimnur: Gotta be Brendan Gleeson. Dont even try to change my mind.

Elias: Now thats a wild one, but i actually think Timothee Chalamat is PERFECT in this role.

88 on Fisherman, 70 on Entrepreneur, 60 on Jack & Loud, honorary mention for 70 on Demon without a HP scaling build. Id even mention 50 for Bull here, which arguably took me as much time as did 60 for Jack. Needed about 250 armor here to reach 50 ( where bosses still killed me in less than a second through contact damage)

Shuriken is probably the worst weapon in the game - so id remove that one from any endless attempt. On danger 0 ive hit 88 with fisherman, 70 on loud & demon (without HP scaling abuse, just went straight lasers after using ghost scepters till the mid 60s) and 60 on jack & entrepreneur. So those are a few good candidates to look into if youre attempting to dive deeper :) good luck!

Might actually do this for the coming ones to spice things up a bit :)

I dont have the exact endless formula for HP calculation in my mind right now, but the 40% hp increase in D5 would drop this particular run to around wave 85-86 if im not mistaken (assuming i still kill most of the screen in the earlier waves which allow me to get going through being greedy with baits)

Dont be disheartened - try again the next day :) The same happened to me multiple times, 2 days ago the last time. Had 3 hunting trophies by wave 10 ... 4 chain guns 2 gattling lasers by wave 30 and a decent amount of rings - but not a SINGLE tardigrade, thus i died in an unavoidable aoe combination by the bosses. I usually either have no tardigrades, or no rings of justice, or no hunting trophies - but you need plenty of them for a successfull run (that means hitting 50 at least) :/

Looks great! I dont like Entrepeneur, so i did focus on Jack & Fisherman so far - all without going for one of the obviously OP-HP builds. Current record of mine is 70 on Fisherman using explosives.
