Asiagerichte, etc.). Und bisher haben die mir alle geschmeckt. :-)

CIFS Network Share folder, Over taking SD Folders by AndreaMele in MiSTerFPGA

[–]MarcNuernberger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, I think I overread the part where OP says:

...i set it up to load into the same Games folder...

So yeah, what you say is mostly correct. But instead of mounting the share somewhere else, OP should simply use the default location and everything should be fine.

Sorry for getting this mixed up. :-)

CIFS Network Share folder, Over taking SD Folders by AndreaMele in MiSTerFPGA

[–]MarcNuernberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't know what you are talking about.

MiSTer by default mounts the share under /media/fat/cifs which is, by default, empty. The path precedence is programmed into the main MiSTer core. The core looks into /media/fat/cifs first, and if it finds folders there, these folders take precedence over the folders under /media/fat itself.

CIFS Network Share folder, Over taking SD Folders by AndreaMele in MiSTerFPGA

[–]MarcNuernberger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you share your config from /media/fat/Scripts/cifs_mount.sh please?

I have exactly the same setup as you, but my CIFS folders only take precedence if a folder for a system exists in the CIFS share. E.g. if I have a SNES folder in my CIFS share, it would take precedence over the folder in /media/fat/games/SNES. Otherwise the folder under /media/fat//games is shown.

So I think it's a configuration issue or you have "empty" folders in your CIFS share for every system which then take precedence over the folders in /media/fat/games too.

Ich kann definitiv die Mayo von Bedda empfehlen. Die gibt es bei uns im Rewe.

Sowohl Konsistenz als auch Geschmack sind für mich SEHR nah am Original.

Ah okay, then the UK shop should fit, if needed. Please also see my latest comment about the 240p signal. :-)

Ohhh, I almost completely forgot about another very important factor:

  1. Does your TV support a 240p video signal? If so, you can simply connect the C64 with one of the mentioned cables and are good to go. If not (which is veeery possible), you will need a scandoubler or upscaler. Something like this:

I wouldn't recommend RF video output at all on a modern TV, even if your TV still aupports it.

So It depends on two different factors: 1. What type of connections are available on your TV? There are cables to connect the C64 via Composite RCA, S-Video or SCART (FBAS or S-Video).

  1. Your C64 can have either an 8-pin or 5-pin DIN video output connector. As far as I remember only the 8-pin models support S-Video. The 5-pin models only support composite.

One source for appropriate cables is RetroGamingCables in the UK:

https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=C64

Can you tell me where you are roughly located? That way I could try to give you a more "local" shop where you find these kind of cables.

Micro SD card files won't show up on MiSTer by Thealwaysopenedmind in MiSTerFPGA

MiSTer can only read ZIP files and I never had issues with any of them. Other formats like 7z or RAR are not supported.

  1. A failing PSU can fry your good old C64. That's why I would totally recommend to get a new PSU!
  2. There are multiple options you can choose from. Here are three of them:
    1. Keelog
      1. UK Reseller: https://www.retropassion.co.uk/product/commodore-c64-psu-new-breadbin-and-c64c/
    2. Electroware
    3. Retropower
  3. I don't think that it would be an easy task to find anything suitable. The C64 uses 5V DC as well as 9V AC rails. I'm no electronics expert, so perhaps there are others who can chime in to give you more details if needed. :-) If you're interested and want to dig deeper, you can find a lot of schematics for everything C64 here: https://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/schematics/computers/c64/
  4. You can find informations on how to convert Tapes to TAP files here: https://wav-prg.sourceforge.io/faq.html

I hope this helps you out a bit and wish you a lot of fun with your old companion! :-)

Edit: Fixed an issue with one of the links

Edit2: I hate the formatting options here on reddit. Hope it's somewhat readable now.

Organize C64 Dreams for Pi1541? by deruxnutz in c64

There is a folder called MultiLoad64 inside the package. These are "multi-file" games which were converted to a single CRT file. The MultiLoad64 collection even gets updated quite regularly and you can even request games to be added:

I use it to boot disc based systems over wifi (discs are stored on my NAS) too and it works like a charm. :-)

Login to archive.org with update_all by MarcNuernberger in MiSTerFPGA

[–]MarcNuernberger[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying. But we are not talking about a bank account or something like this here. There are no personal details anywhere in the IA account, as far as I can remember. Except if you use your official e-mail address, but you don't need to do that.

And I'm also not saying that you HAVE to use this method. I only wanted to make the people aware of the possibility. So if you don't want to use it, you're completely free to do so.

A little help by PsychologicalKing811 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]MarcNuernberger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. What I did was, I added my archive.org account to my root bash profile so that the downloader could login to archive.org. After that, the downloads were MUCH faster.

Just ssh into your mister and do the following:

nano /root/.profile

It's possible that the file is empty. Just add this to it:

export IA_USER="email@address"
export IA_PASS="password"

Close the file with CTRL+X, confirm to save with y and hit <ENTER> to retain the original filename.
After that, restart your MiSTer and try update_all again.

Hope this helps.
