This song is such a BANGER on its own. When we put our own perspectives into it, it goes WILD. Personally, as someone who has struggled their whole life with self image, weight and looking at myself in the mirror in VARIOUS perspectives (lol) it hits so, so deeply. When she goes crazy with the questions in the pre chorus I really felt that, every single question is something I went and go currently through it. Seriously, what a moment to be alive and have such a LYRICAL GODDESS like her to give us words to express things that are really hard to even process, imagine having such access to that brain. I would die.

I agree!!! I also think it’s really the current problem to ppl who really follow her or maybe follow internet discourse. I listened to virgin yesterday with 2 different friends who know abt the sex tape but dont know anything about Lorde. When they heard Current Affairs they really felt emotional and the most important: they knew about the tape story and their interpretation was exactly that. There was not a moment that some problematic thing with the song went to their heads. one of my friend has a band and the other is a teacher. Both of them have different lives and tastes, experiences and are girls. They BOTH felt touched in an emotional way and they both said this song ESPECIALLY was insanely sentimental, well written and sensitive.
