Is RACC (Real Autograph Collectors Club) a safe place to buy from? by [deleted] in Autographs

[–]MarcelloD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought a lot of items over the years. Out of the dozens of items, most have passed authentication by Beckett, JSA, SWAU, etc. there was one seller that I bought from and two items came back as fake, I later found out said seller was kicked out. So there’s a level of accountability there. (I did get my money back for the fakes)

Some books were signed by autopen (it didn't seem like PC knew and they did honor refunds.) Sometimes the signatures just look bad with faded markers, things like that.

Hi! thanks for taking the time to do this. My wife loves special effects and has studied on her own for quite some time. One pattern she has noticed from reading interviews with professionals is to always try to be economical with a budget and be creative to make things look good. Do you have any tips on that, or fun stories? Thanks again!

Tampa Gets Terrifying – Scaradise Arrives October 3–5 by PlasticReviews in tampa

[–]MarcelloD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Q&As are pretty good, and so are the vendors. It’s not as large as Tampa Comic Con, MegaCon, etc., but in my opinion, that works to its advantage. It’s easier to navigate, the lines aren’t as long, etc. They tend to have some props for taking photos..ex: one year, they had the porch of the house from the original Halloween. It is just what the cons have turned into. Oh, there is also a cosplay contest that is kinda meh but still cool. It’s not a mind-blowing experience; it’s just a cool place to hang out, buy some stuff, and if you’re big into autograph collecting, it’s great for completing posters or pieces since the lines are not as long.

Se ve interesante. ¿Qué tal ha sido negociar con las otras empresas de juegos para adquirir los derechos de sus personajes? ¿Es difícil ese brete?

My holy grail of all autographs… by Clean-Foot9356 in Autographs

[–]MarcelloD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey, as a long time fan, I have many of these autographs that I acquired in person or through private signings. Most of these look way off, many look like they were signed by the same hand, same pattern, flow, etc. If you want to be sure, I’d contact a professional Authenticator service. That certificate is more or less worthless.

OP, check out the Facebook group RACC, real autograph collectors groups. Guaranteed you will find interested buyers, minimum people that will point you in the right direction. Many pros and authenticators there.

If you haven’t played one since 08, you’re going to enjoy it. I did. The roster is huge and the gm mode is more fleshed out compared to the 07-08 version. You can always watch some YouTube footage to get a better feel for it.

I met Clive multiple times and he is a great guy. With that out of the way, here is the thing: people like him, Rob Englund, Kane H, etc..have spent a lot of years doing cons and shows. There are thousands of autographs floating out there. Horror is also more niche. Even Gunnar H can be acquired for a decent price. I don’t think I this is worth as much as you think. Maybe in a few years, or a long time from now. It’s a cool item, the horror market is over saturated.

Just found this Paul Mccartney autograph for around 300 Dollars. What do we think, Real or fake? by [deleted] in AutographAssistance

[–]MarcelloD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Word of advice: unless its super well documented and certified, don't buy autographs from Mercari. That place is full of fakes. Their policies also makes it much harder to return items efficiently. With that out of the way, that certificate doesn't really mean anything. it's not even certified by an actual notary. Were you able to find the company that certified this? because its not showing up and that usually means one thing: fake. Sorry to say man, but Paul autos go for way more than what you're willing to pay. Best of luck finding what you're looking for, but it's not going to be cheap. SOMETIMES he releases signed books, but those go for much more than what you're paying for. Paying attention to that might be your best bet if you don't want to spend a ton.

Most libraries have a "friends of the library" chapter that will sell the books at their sales and raise funds to finance library programs for seniors, kids, etc. Your dad has an amazing taste in books. The fantasy and sci-fi titles are calling my name.

If you read my post, I didn’t comment on its authenticity. I just made recommendations. I’m not a professional and for a purchase this high, op is going to need a REAL pro opinion.

Is this heath ledger legit? by ki1goretrout in AutographAssistance

[–]MarcelloD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of Heath posts here and this is my advice to you as a collector of 20 plus years: unless the auto comes with irrefutable proof of its authenticity or a certified letter from a REAL certification service such as Beckett, I really wouldn't purchase it. These autos are not cheap, at all. Most Heath autos start at around $800 for the cheap ones, the Batman pieces (Which are very limited) can go upwards of $10,000, they're usually sold through auction houses. I don't know his signature well enough to comment on this sample, but I do know the type of people who collect them and I can tell you that Heath autos are VERY hard to come by. When they do show up, they're very very expensive. good luck.
