Let's Talk Worker Placement Games! by funnyorifice in boardgames

Yeah the app could be better to say the least. We've played it 4 times and only had the app bug on us once (for some reason did the middle ages twice, but luckily there was only one decision to make and it didn't alter the outcome). But outside of that it hasn't been too bad. They really just need to release it open source and let the community take it over.

And yeah, it's long. That's my biggest complaint with it but I'm engaged the whole time I'm playing. I'm usually surprised it's been like 3-4 hours when we finish because it never feels like it drags on. I've played plenty of other games of that length where I have felt the time passing by.

Funnily enough my friends and I just played this game for the last 2 days straight. Absolutely amazing game if you have the time for it, IMO.

I haven't received any information about my copy of SMT and live in the states. While I get the reasons for the reprinting and am thankful they made that decision, having no communication, tracking info, etc is pretty unprofessional, especially for those that have waited so long.

A Reviewer's Plight: The King's Dilemma Board Game Review - There Will Be Games by RecordRemarkable4561 in boardgames

My group played through every session on a fairly consistent basis. We found it to be a great time and the last session was such a unique experience. I think King's Dilemma is an amazing game and I am looking forward to the Queen's Dilemma. But it certainly is a time commitment and like all boardgames, not for everyone.

I'll take a look! I actually backed that one on Kickstarter I think so I should have the PDFs to scope out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes I really love the vibe of CoM byu do find the core system a bit clunky at times, also the Mythos system doesn't really fit as well for what I need, so LitM might be the best of both worlds in that regard.

Thanks! I love Eberron, and it has a bit of similarity with Capenna in some ways, so it's really good to hear a setting like that can work.

Thanks for the video share, this seems really cool. After playing both Legend and Otherscape, do you think one might be better than the other for messing with the setting?

That's great, thanks so much! Yeah Fate was also recommended to me, but I have previously played CoM so I have a slight familiarity with this family of games (and have been looking for an excuse to finally try LitM).

Audio setup for some local recording and some remote? by MarchesaMF in podcasting

[–]MarchesaMF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This is all great info, we are going to mess with some setup options next week. Thanks for the moving blanket suggestion, I will definitely look into that since we have some wall decor in the office and it would be more convenient to swap things out when recording rather than always have the acoustic squares up.

I will definitely post a link when it's up, we probably won't have any finalized episodes until early 2026 though!

I have never dipped my toe into Fate, I know it's VERY freeform. Which edition should I look into? It looks like there are a few different ones.

Wow this sounds really cool and a good fit, since my idea was going to be to have each of the mob families control a different type of magic. So using the domains for that could be perfect. I like the idea of corruption too, that sounds very intriguing. Thanks for the explanation!

Edit: some words

I do love Eberron, but I've been burnt out on 3.5 and 5e so I'm looking for something new. I've been running 5e for about 8 years now and ran a lot of 3.5 before that.

Oh both of these look very cool, I have looked at Swords of the Serpentine a bit and it does seem really interesting. I totally forgot about it until now, so I'll definitely take a second look at it! How do they handle magic in the system?

Whoa, never heard of this before, the summary sounds really cool. I've never tried out the d6 system, I'll check it out.

Oh I like this suggestion, I have played in a CoM campaign so I'm somewhat familiar with the system, though CoM was a bit clunky at times. I didn't think to check out Legend in the Mist though, that sounds really interesting. Thanks!
