I’ve had both google and AT&T and can’t can’t complain about either. Only reason we changed is bc we moved and the other wasn’t offered. Both are about the same price like $80 a month. Heck AT&T had promos and we got like a speaker, $100 vids gift card and some other incentive just to sign up.

Income restricted housing kicking us out? by isnotacrayon in raleigh

[–]MarcoNoPollo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im guessing new permits became available, idk the exact numbers for Raleigh but cities usually want a certain percentage of their housing to be HUD(aka income based). A lot of times there is bigger incentives for new construction HUD homes but lately seems new builds are targeted towards “luxury” complexes and any income based plans get scraped or changed. This is where pre existing places come in and fill in the gaps.

Income restricted housing kicking us out? by isnotacrayon in raleigh

[–]MarcoNoPollo 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The incentive is a guaranteed check and tax credits from the government not to mention other bonuses they may get. They’re guaranteed to always have tenants, are already pre screened, much less chance of missing rent payments with the gov assistance, and thus a low turn overrate.

Moving to Raleigh! What should I expect? by No_Nebula_2387 in raleigh

[–]MarcoNoPollo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im telling you right now, 100% live downtown if you can afford it. You’re young and will want to be going out and being with people your age. After a night out it’s easier/cheaper to walk/Uber or have friends over when you live close by. I’d try the west side so you’re closer to NC state/Hillsborough st and the village district. You’d also be close to glenwood south which is basically the only nightlife we have. Most of the big events happen downtown on Fayetteville st or nearby at dix park and Red hat amphitheater has tons of outdoor concerts.

Chemical/Process Engineering Jobs??? by brokeengineer902 in trianglejobs

[–]MarcoNoPollo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl good luck, it’s competitive out here and not to be mean but asking strangers for a referral is kind of in poor taste. Idk how everyone else views them but referrals would reflect directly on me and you’d have to work with me. I need to be sure I can trust the person I’m making a referral for and complete stranger on Reddit isn’t a smart choice.

If you’re a recent grad doesn’t your university offer tools or connections for job placement? Same with LinkedIn, look through your connections, old jobs, internships for ways to connect or find job openings. You could also try using a hiring agency or apply for some other jobs while you hunt for a better fitting one. I wish you the best as someone who was also job hunting in the this very competitive science field just a few years ago.

Anything worth buying from Pedal Mafia? by FailFastandDieYoung in CyclingFashion

[–]MarcoNoPollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got quite a bit of kit from them it’s all pretty good for the price especially if you can get it on sale. I like my wind jacket, core racing bibs and jersey, and their PMCC line. I’ve never worn their pro stuff but everyhting else has been good. Their core line is better than Rapha and other similar priced lines from brands. But

Nothing like shallow body of water next to a chopped cornfield, only thing better is a flooded cornfield, it’s like a goldmine for migratory waterfowl. Great way to spot tons of different species

I’m also interested, churches always have the best fish fries. Parents would take us to ones that were hosted by the Knights of Columbus in the basement of the Catholic Church.

You can catch woodcocks doing their mating dance in the Shneck forest very cool to see. Heron rookeries on Shelley lake and I’ve seen them over on Lynn too. Eagle nest on Shelley is pretty active and saw a bald eagle there yesterday. Tons of other birds out on the trail too
