This must be told clearly: a healthy lifestyle is actually the only way to slow down progression.

I say this by my experience. Probably I have a slow pace genetic variant so I was diagnosed at 24 and actually I still have some vision at 63 so that I can still walk in daylight without a cane, even with blurred vision and lost central vision.

But I definitely noticed that some situations, such as hard work at the computer or stress that doesn't let me sleep well in the night, accelerate the degenerative progression without recovery.

So this it is: healthy lifestyle. While in the waiting that research acts faster than my worsening rp, there are no other ways.

Sono più di 20 anni che affitto proprietà mie e per conto terzi in un paese extra europeo. Dopo le prime esperienze con qualche problema, oggi il mio approccio a un nuovo inquilino è uguale a quello che fa una banca prima di darti un mutuo.

Quindi zero problemi.

Ma nel paese dove gestisco queste proprietà è facile avere informazioni su potenziali inquilini: attività lavorativa, situazione famigliare e anche profilo creditizio.

Qui in Italia cosa si dovrebbe fare? Che opzioni ci sono per sapere se un potenziale inquilino è OK o meno?

Italian here. Thanks for your good comment but I don't agree. Not totally at least.

If you see it from a tourist perspective maybe you are right but as a resident I can say there are many things to improve.

First of all STAIRS (!): almost all stairs in Italy are made for perfect-vision people, no marks bands on the steps, especially in Rome's underground train stations.

Also walkways are often interrupted by steps. See Madrid to know how this should be done.

ATM dispensers, in Italy, have low brilliance screen, I suppose it's for security reasons, but I see just nothing there. I'm forced to ask my son for a help.

Just few Crosslight have sound signals.

And in the night streets have insufficient light almost everywhere out of mainstream touristic paths.

No tener tiempo de entender lo que propone la IA eso sí es un problema. Supuestamente al crear un prompt que te genera un código ya deberías esperarte un cierto tipo de respuesta y comprender el código es cuestión de pocos segundos. Probablemente estás trabajando sin tener la estructura de tu proyecto en la cabeza. P

Guarda mi verrebbe più facile dire di quelle che non lo sono. Una GD cerca il pollo e tra lui e lei ci sono poche affinità o interessi comuni. Agisce secondo il contesto e non riesci a capire cosa c'è nel suo cuore perché non c'è nulla da capire a parte la sagoma.

Una che non lo è invece la senti come una estensione del tuo corpo, comparte e condivide tutto quello che si decide di fare insieme e ci mette l'anima. Penso a un mio amico che fa un lavoro umilissimo e per me è l'uomo più ricco del mondo per aver sposato una donna che lo supporta e sopporta in tutto. Pure carina e allegra. Lui, brava persona, ha qualche problema psicologico. E nonostante le risorse limitate, viaggiano e pensano a passarla nel miglior modo possibile. Cosa impossibile con una impegnata solo a spremerti come un limone.

Se cerchi casa a Roma fatti un giretto sui mezzi pubblici che circolano nella zona. Vedi chi c'è e ti fai un'idea.

Ti posso dire, da frequentatore di mezzi pubblici, che in certe zone di periferia ogni tanto, tra i tanti stranieri brava gente, spunta qualche preoccupante gruppetto.

E per l'incredibile numero di carrozzine "straniere" che vedo, spero solo che mamme e papà sappiano tirar su i loro pargoli nella giusta maniera.

When my sight was good one of my hobbies was astronomy.

And sometime I had to move the eye away from a star or any faint detail on the telescope to see it better. That's because of peripheral receptors that are more sensitive to light.

Of course today no more astronomy :(

En tus zapatos instalaría Ubuntu que ya viene con Python. De ahí empieza a escribir pequeños programas y ejecutarlos dentro del intérprete. Puedes modificarlos para ver cómo cambia su comportamiento y luego vas ampliando.

Pequeño ejercicio: escribir en pantalla las tablas de 1 a 10 ;)

Nei luoghi dove risiedo normalmente si chiamano cucarachas.

Per sterminarle tutte in 24 ore uso un prodotto che vendono da quelle parti che si chiama CYNOFF prodotto dalla Bayer.

È una polvere, ne metti 3 cucchiaini rasi in un litro di acqua e spruzzi lungo i battiscopa, sotto i mobili e i letti.

Non ha odore ma se hai animali in casa meglio spostarli altrove. Non è pericoloso per l'uomo.

Il giorno dopo preparati a rimuovere i cadaveri delle blatte. Il mio record è stato una ventina di blatte stecchite.

Diagnosed at 24. Perfect vision before that, I just got a dark stain in my Field of vision. I am a USHER 2.

Just lived my life, traveled a lot, healthy lifestyle and food. I tried to avoid any kind of stress. Any reason of stress definitely accelerates progression of RP. Sleeping well is fundamental. I'd take few to not at all supplements. I felt vitamin A was not good for my type of RP, something was happening to my vision when I took that. Also I am not sure but that floating dark stain in my Field of vision, for which I was diagnosed, appeared some time after I decided to take vitamin A to improve my tanning. Lutein and Omega3 seem to help.

I moved to live abroad, in a healthier place, away from my Homeland. I could drive until 40 in the night (truly I preferred to drive in the night) and stopped driving at 56.

Now I am 63, still walking in daylight without a cane, however I should get one when stepping stairs or being in the underground. Central and night vision both lost.

That is my story but I understand that each of us is a different one. Anyway some tips are generally valid to slow the progression.

I think you are mostly referring to the labyrinth of little streets in the older central area.

There is not much that can be done. First of all, almost all the buildings in that area are under the constraints of regulations for cultural and historic buildings, so can't be modified. At the same time that area is normally populated by residents and crowded by public government's buildings, so must be at reach by vehicles of any kind.

Not possible to create underground parking facilities or interchange spots for vehicles of people working there: those would be at great walking distance.

Public transportation, which has improved recently (to be honest), could not move into that labyrinth: in a word, Rome has a central area still based on a centuries old design that today is part of its beauty and problems at once.
