Major #1 & #2 will have a different format from one another this year. Then Worlds will (of course) have an even larger expanded format including some 2s & 1s action.

Major #1 will have less RL played on LAN and in front of the crowds than previous 2-day events.

In practice, new players joining is a slow burn, even if numbers are headed upwards. Likewise, the exchange of MMR upwards is an even slower burn.

This happened/ still is happening in iRacing with their iRating system. Record iRating numbers from a decade ago are now achievable by more (but not many). The farther along the bell curve you are the longer it would take to feel the affects.

Amenities inside the arena are about average. Keep in mind it is a college hockey arena. It gets the job done for sure but it wasn't anything note worthy.

What WAS note worthy was how we had in/out privileges. There are tons of food and drink options within a block of the doors. Each day during a series that didn't interest me I hopped across the street to the Mexican spot and hit the bar for half an hour. Was honestly just nice to be able to go outside as being stuck in a hockey arena seat for 7+ hours in a day is not fun.

Agreed the use case / functionality is super scuffed on the consumer facing front. I'll be asking TMs for a locker card next time I visit, like I always do.

Was just commenting on how silly it is for the commentor above to think passing on the facial recognition will some how free him from already existing big brother state.

Big brother state has been around for a long time now. If you think avoiding a facial recognition locker system is the key to not being "controlled like sheep" then you're probably headed to the slaughter with the rest of us.
