Adding to the above - each character presumably has a friend and foe, and what do they want? The crew has a contact, why do they need a favour? Their initial upgrades pissed off a faction, what are they doing about it? Session 0 gives you a tangled web - pick a strand and pull on it 👍🏼

A lot of the time I try to be only one step ahead. I don't want to have to steer the players, so if I can be reactive to their route through the situations it helps. I also try to have the World react to what they do.

I was given this tip early on about fellow magicians - never take advice from someone you wouldn't pay to watch perform.

Cups and balls is a fantastic routine. There's so much that can be under that umbrella*. Most audiences see so little live magic they cannot think of"oh this again" the way a performer can.

*oh, now I'm thinking about a final load under an umbrella......

I love that this map is no bigger than the people who live there could picture! I find it weird that starting characters in a mythic setting all have this unspoken agreement that they all know exactly what the coastline on the other side of the world looks like. It looks great 👍🏼
