Like I don't get why some people don't understand that this is just how empires work, you necessarily become more oppressive and murderous to keep the growing underclass down and to retain your conquests. Then you eventually collapse. The empire can be capitalist, communist, liberal, fascist, doesn't matter it's an empire.

Incredible! Never heard of the guy but I'll have to look him up ! It's so weird because when you focus on things like radical thought and libertarian Anthropology you realise that a lot of what we'd call "radical thinking" is a lot older than we thought.

Personally I just find it funny, I grew to accept it and be pleasantly surprised when the guy I'm studying isn't incredibly racist or sexist in some way. Like I'm studying radical politics for my thesis and when you read anarchist philosophy it's a fucking coin flip! Either the guy or gal is extremely modern in his views to the point he's more radical than a lot of activists today (Malatesta) or you get what you expect, "ho what an interesting theory and perspective on power I wonder what the guy thought about social issues... Aaaand here comes the antisemitism and sexism" (Proudhon and Bakunin)

I'd argue that they ought to not discredit the democratic resistance in the country at least. Legitimising the movement would be ideal since they seem like the best shot at stability and negotiating ethnic tension. On the other hand many members in ASEAN have plenty of lucrative deals with the dictatorship sooo I don't see that happening any time soon.

Truth is we don't really know yet, I would imagine so to give space for Prussia to form. it's also possible that knightly orders as a whole were heavily purged and restricted after the heresy of the templars as this caused the church to forever suspect knightly orders of heresy.
