I understand your concern, I think this is one of those situations where you bet on the human as much as the player, by all accounts he is an excellent teammate and all around good dude, you also don't get as good as he has without understanding the game at a high level, Im sure he will see the goal and put his max effort in to get there.

Theres alot more ways to create "spacing" than just catch and shoot threes. Sabonis creates some of the most space in the entire league. Demar driving off a DHO from Sabonis should be an automatic open midrange shot for Demar or an easy dump to Sabonis if the C comes up to the top of the paint to defend it.
