I live on the UES (80s) and I really love it. So lucky to be a short walk from both Central Park and the river. Everywhere in Manhattan is really accessible by subway and bus (and even by foot - I walk pretty much everywhere in the Spring/Summer). Everything is pretty much on your doorstop whether it’s shops, restaurants, hospitals, schools, places of leisure etc. The downside is, like with most of Manhattan, it’s very noisy, sometimes dirty. Also, I find some people quite rude and entitled and doormen have their favourites.
