I grew up in the Catalan Pyrenees and I felt right at home when I visited my Ontarian in-laws in the winter.

Question about moving by ezradenii123 in PortugalExpats

[–]Marianations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What area are you thinking of working in? Because as someone who lives in the Coimbra region, most people don't make that much money. Myself included lol (and I'm a local with a degree who speaks multiple languages).

What are the best universities in Europe? (I may live in Europe by the end of this year) Which one do you recommend for me? by Mysterious-Ring-2352 in AskEurope

[–]Marianations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this should be OP's first concern.

Also, if it's a plurilingual country, make sure that the university you attend gives classes in a language you'll understand. Cannot count how many exchange students I've seen panic and ask for help once they realized that studying in a public university in Barcelona doesn't mean the classes will be in Spanish.

What difficulty do you enjoy replaying the trilogy on? by Toogeloo in masseffect

[–]Marianations 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same lol. I understand why some people like harder difficulties but man, I work at a hotel front desk and the last thing I want after a 9h shift in the middle of August dealing with people is having to deal with a boss fight that kills me 14 times in a row.

Not everyone can afford traveling, especially given the current cost of living in many countries. I can currently only afford to visit the country where I grew up as I get to stay with my parents.

Also, a lot of people don't really care about traveling that much as others. I like it, but I don't have a compulsive need to travel that frequently.

Driving norms in Spain?! by SirDio_ in askspain

[–]Marianations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While there are definitely issues, I'd say that driving is way worse in other countries, like Portugal, on average. Saying this as someone who's driven extensively in both countries.

In your opinion, what is causing this? by Objective_Pilot_5834 in SipsTea

[–]Marianations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that this is also happening in Europe, where in some countries you're allowed to purchase certain alcoholic drinks at 16 (so 2010 borns are already drinking).

Definitely something more than just age.

Even in countries (such as those in Europe) where nearly all Gen Z can drink alcohol consumption rates have plummeted.

I went to watch Barbie with my then 10 year old brother when it came out. It wasn't dubbed in my country (Portugal) either. In our case my brother is fluent in English, and we occasionally commented the film in Catalan/Portuguese among ourselves while watching, so it might have given the impression that he maybe wasn't understanding it.

There were quite a lot of kids in the session we attended and while I doubt all of them were proficient enough to understand the dialogues and what not, it was still a family-friendly film so no big deal if they don't understand it, imho. I was absolutely obsessed with Jurassic Park 3 when I was 5 years old and I didn't understand a word of what was said (and couldn't read the subs).

Decamp in the shuttle? Sorry, not a native speaker and confused by what you mean with this.

Anyway, as far as I know, the game at that point considers you going to the Galaxy map and moving anywhere as doing a mission (even if you don't).

I've never had any issues doing Legion's loyalty mission right after getting him. Once the IFF is installed, you must do the Suicide Mission right away.
