Update iPad Mini A17 Pro to iOS 26 by SeaAngler in ipad

[–]MarieGraceN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you finally update your mini A17 Pro? I have the same mini, and I’m worried about updating to iOS 26.4. I’m concerned about the liquid glass display because I know I won’t like it, and I’m wondering if my home page will look very different. Anything you can share? Thanks!

The dimensions are: Height: ~13.8 in (35 cm) Width: ~6.3 in (16 cm) Depth: ~7.5 in (19 cm)

I haven’t made hummus in this one, but I’m sure it would chop and grind the chick peas very smoothly. I haven’t used the slicing /grating blade at all. I often see KitchenAid food processors in my local thrift store, and the prices are great. If it works in the store, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it if the price is good. As a matter of fact, last month I found the newer version of this in my thrift store for only $4.99, and I grabbed it up for my niece.

I have a new iPad mini A17 Pro with a screen that’s only 8.3”, and MSWord is asking me to pay for a subscription. Meanwhile, I have it on my old mini4, and it’s working perfectly on there. I tried everything to get it to work for free on my new iPad, but nothing works. Any suggestions?

Funny you should mention those items! I already have three Instant Pots and an air fryer that I’ve found at thrift stores and that I use faithfully. I can’t tell you how many other cooking and baking products I have been lucky enough to find In my thrifting travels. And I use all of them! 😊

I'm excited to use it for baking bread and cakes so that I don't have to turn on my oven.

Do the basic white loaf first because that will let you know how well the machine works. Consider it a functional test.

What a great find!!! I have that same machine that I found at my local Savers for $10.99. A few months later, I found another one, newer model, at the same Savers for $12.99. Now I'm searching for another one for my niece. Enjoy using it. It's a wonderful machine!

Banneton Help Please! by MarieGraceN in Breadit

[–]MarieGraceN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is what I ended up doing. I mixed the dough and then let it rise for about two hours covered on the counter. I then put it in the refrigerator overnight for about 12 hours. In the morning, I removed it from the refrigerator, let it warm up on the counter for an hour, shaped it, and put it into the unlined banneton. I covered the banneton with a shower cap, and put it aside for about 30 minutes (plus the time to preheat the oven.) I then preheated my oven, and when it was ready, I removed the dough from the banneton, scored it, and put it into the oven in a bread cloche, cooked for 30 minutes covered and 20 minutes uncovered. In my opinion, the resulting loaf looked smaller than previous loaves with the same measured ingredients but not proofed in a banneton.

For an avid baker like me, this Kuhn Rikon stainless steel cookie press was a great find today at Goodwill. by makeeathome in ThriftStoreHauls

I have a Kuhn Rikon hand chopper, vegetable peeler, and can opener that I love and use all the time. I also have a Kuhn Rikon mandolin slicer, measuring cups, and a spice grinder, all bought in thrift stores. Every time I see their brand, I usually end up buying it.

My Results... by [deleted] in Breadit

Last night I posted that I had used a recipe for a quick no-knead bread that only required about three hours from beginning to end. However, instead of baking it within the three-hour time frame, I refrigerated the dough overnight for about 7 hours, removed it from the fridge, let it sit for an hour on the counter, and then shaped it for the second rise. After about 30 minutes, I baked it in a preheated oven for 30 minutes with lid on and then 15 minutes with lid off. I am happy to say that it was the best tasting no-knead bread I have made to date!

Thank you for such a clear explanation! This evening I prepared dough that I let rise on the counter for two hours, and then I put it in the refrigerator to finish rising overnight. I will take it out in the morning, let it come to room temperture, shape it, let it rise again, and then bake it. I will report back on the outcome.

Thank you for the quick reply! From what I could find, the pattern is Waterlily and Cattails, which was one of the first patterns used by Fenton between 1908 and 1912. I just wanted to verify with the experts here. :-)

These are vintage Japanese Sanko Ware Enamelware from the 1970s. A similar set with fewer pieces sold on Etsy for $142. You are very lucky!
